Hi,

I know you hear this a lot, but i'm looking at buying a Grande Punto Sporting. I was originally going to buy the 1.4 16v but after seeing i could get insured on the Tjet for £30 extra a month and hearing about all the gearbox problems with the 1.4 16v I think its best i get some boost haha

I've done a lot of research about the Punto, but I was wondering what you guys recommend me to look for when buying one. Where i live they are going for about £7k to £8K with 12K to 25K miles on.

I really want a low mileage but could you also tell me if there are any differences between the years of the range, like whats the difference between an 06 to an 07 plate.

Anyway i'm really excited as i suppose its a big step going from a 1.1 Peugeot 106 to a 120 bhp animal haha

ive got a 57 plate t jet sporting in red with the black roof (skydome). Try and get one with the sunroof it looks so much better. I'm no expert on the differences in models but I noticed that my car still has the blue badges on it whereas 08 plates have the newer red badges. I think the interiors are the same except on the very new models.

One thing i noticed about the older models is the alloys they come with, i think they are the old sporting alloys because mine and all the rest ive seen which are 2008 model onwards have different alloys.

If you are looking at a 2007 model with around 12k miles on it you shouldn't really be paying more than £7000... slightly more if it comes with the sunroof.

Btw, dont think about getting the standard 1.4 .... the t jet is in a class of its own... you will love it

There were a few early Tjets on 57 plates, most started on 08. They have gone up in value recently but then all small used cars have. Mild facelift was released on 58 plates which had changed interior trim, grey headlights, cruise control as standard and a different wheel as an option.
