I'm just wondering what are the limits of a punto?

Off the top of my head, Punto Matts the one to ask.

not to sure about the fiat puntos but from the abarthforum.co.uk I know of two people taking their cars up to 295bhp!!! from a standard 155bhp abarth it costs roughly £7000 from G-Tech in Germany but a little closer to home Sanspeed do a similar package quoted me £4000 to get my Abarth up to 250bhp.

But with all that power can the traction control deal with it? and what do they do to the cars?

Ive never driven one with all that power TBH but from what they say in a straight line they are awesome but comming out of a corner can be a bit tricky untill you get used to it.

250-295bhp so the torque figures would be around 300 too i doubt the chassis would handle that kind of power out of corners or even putting the power down in a straight line!

for 7k i expect the company provide bracing/stiffening of the chassis, a LSD and better suspension. engine wise i expect they just go for bigger turbo, IC and induction, mapping..

the basics really

The GP/GPS will handle up to 200ish with the right mods quite easily The Abarth will obviously handle more and for 7k I agree with Craig i'd expect them to do some chassis work too!

The Tjet can get to about 160/170bhp with induction/remap/exhaust and the Mjet will get to near 200bhp off just a remap and maybe an induction kit!

well thats waffe. the grande punto s2000 is powered by an alfa romeo 2.0 twin spark from the alfa 156 cammed and mapped to 300hp

The 295bhp version from G-Tech isn't a 1.4 and the work on the chassis is not included in the 7k.

The S2000 engine has got a power output of 280bhp and is a bit more than an Alfa 145 engine with cams and a map.

i just read it was a 156 sourced 2.0 ts with cams, maniffold and exhaust and 4x4 with an lsd.

if you know more though id be interested

Gtech's most powerful kit gives 265hp/348Nm suits all tjet engines (abarth,bravo,500,gp,mito) and costs 5800€+900€ for installation and rr.

And you think the S2000 Rally car's chassis is just a standard GP underneath? Think again .

Heavily modified, extra stiffness etc etc.

I have 186 and 316ft/lbs wouldnt mind 200 after christmas though :slayer:

I imaging with 250 - 300 though you would have to start looking at the chassis, mine wheel spins too much as it is now, in the wet, I have cheap **** tyres on the front though, they will be off soon

didnt say he doesn't know more. just asked would he tell me more and mentioned what id read.

i didnt say t was a standard chassis. nor did i say its strengthened for a simple reason, i dont know. but as you said you can presume its strengthened and stiffened and so on and so forth.

By no means a normal GP!!

Wheel spin in 4th FTW!!! (Seems to have been a one off and not sure why i was in 4th at the time) 186Bhp 315.5fl-lb Torque!

Other than that one incident the car seems to handle the new power fine! (For now)

i suppose in reality its kind of like the old 6r4 argument. ie it was called a metro 6r4 but infact was a maestro with a heavily adapted metro shell on top.

in other words there's probably not much gp in the mix at all.
