Hi all,
My 57 GP 3 door has a corroded back box and its only just gone two year old. Sept reg, I have a 3rd year dealer warranty and would like to know is it covered under warranty as the manual isn't much help?

Chris

I had the car in the other day for the brakes and they told me the back box was corroded but not blowing.
I was thinking its only a two year old car and as usual they are double skinned so it seemed a bit odd. If its covered under warranty might as well get it done to make it look a little better underneath but if not I can leave it till it blows.

was this the dealer or a fast fit place you had it in at?

mines a 06 whilst it has superficial corrosion its nowhere near rusted through....

most common on all exhausts is where they are welded the heat takes the "goodness out of the metal"

sound's to me like they were trying to drum up work like stoneacre tried with me telling me my front tyres were Illegal once i wandered into the workshop and got my depth gauge out of the boot there was a very flustered service manager.......

if your concerned try asking an independent fast fit exhaust place and if it needs it get a quote from them and play them off against each other

If everything on a 2 year old car suffering from superficial corrosion had to be replaced it would make for a very long list :D. I would forget all about it until it DOES actually start blowing.
