So my 1.9 Mjet was having trouble with the EGR valve so i had it cleaned and refitted ... all was fine but now ivegot a check engine light appear since this was done , i'm jsut wondering if this was caused by the EGR valve being removed?

I have the same problem. Diagnostic tool report failure code P0401 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected, but the car goes fine, with normal power in low end rpm. How do you resolve the problem?
 
could be that it isnt plugged in propperly, Ive had my EGR out twice and havnt had the engine light on afterwards, if its driving ok the valve must be back on ok and not leaking
