Just had my car serviced, had new braided brake lines fitted and a K&N panel Filter. On the way home everything seemed fine, came onto a sliproad and gave it a bootfull to get upto speed and the next thing i know i have a christmas tree on my dash!
Check Engine light
ESP unavailabe
Hill Holder Unavailable

Car still drives fine i think seems to be boosting ok! Gonna disconnect the battery in a bit and let her cool down!

So whats wrong then?

Ive had all them before, I just turned it off and started it again and it was all ok

they did something wrong...its obvious, i bet that brake fluid pot is empty and that is the cause... check it out... it has happened before, they do not know how to fit new lines

No other ideas here (n)
Let us know what disconnecting the battery does to the lights. :)

can bus my friend, low brake fluid will cause abs not to work properly, no abs then no esp, no esp no hill holder, but there is achance to have air in the system... abs bleeding not properly done, I had this situation on my xsara vts...:bang:

had it once after i went slightly to fast around a corner....

nothing serious just kept driving and when i got home i turned of the engine started it again and everything was okay!:)

Turning it off then on again fixes the ESP, Hill holder error (until you go over 70 then it flashes up again) just disconnected the battery (after dropping the socket into the engine bay) will go back after dinner and start her up!

Disconnecting the battery didn't work! What a ball ache!! Car drives fine. will check brake fluid tomorrow when i can see properly. Not paying Fiat £60 for a diagnostics test either!

car booked in for diagonostics (got it for free) brake fluid level looks fine. Only thing i can think of is when they replaced the brake lines they have damaged a sensor or something? Although the ESP/Hill Holder/ASR only switches off when i go over 75 mph. When i switch the car off it resets and its fine again (until i hit 75)
Check Engine light and message is there at every start up!
When i rang the garage and explained the problem the first thing he said was "was yours the Red Punto? bring it in when you can" Sounds like they may have had the same problem and just deleted the fault.............

The car has been fault free for 2 years and 30,000 miles so i am 99% certain they have caused the error, as long as they fix it for free and the fault doesn't come back i will be happy!
Would an ABS problem cause the check engine light ot come on though?

have you checked tires pressure? are your tires the same? different wheel diameters could trick the esp sensors... anyway i wish they fix it for free and i hope you will share their explain...

ESP problem? Good luck.

I got a puncture 2 months ago so i have had a brand new tyre fitted on the offside rear. No problems when it was done. Not checked tyre pressures i would assume these were checked as part of the service?
I am now fairly confident its an ABS sensor problem caused by fitting the braided brake lines. On reflection the brakes did feel a little less sharp at the top of the pedal travel than before. I have to press the pedal slightly further to get the car slowing down. I was expecting the pedal to feel a little sharper with the new braided brake lines so i am leaning towards the brakes not being set up properly/ABS sensor.

Any takers i am offering 3/1

esp sensors are the same sensors abs uses, they are counting wheel rpms. esp uses abs braking action and engine contol to do its job. a malfunction (adjustment, cable cut, short circuit) to a sensor would illuminate an abs fault lamp aswell. i believe you have air in your brake lines(feeling spongy?). i cannot understand why you feel so sure with your garage service they are human aren't they. they might forgot to bleed the lines or inflate the tires...

I think you may well be right to be honest, armed with this info i will see what the techs make of it tomorrow.

Well it looks like the error code points to the manifold sensor! Off to Fiat again then for some more digging!
