I have just brought some angel lights for my Punto but still have the original bulbs needing to be changed.
Does anyone know if it would be H7 Xenon HID headlight bulbs or if not which one I'll need?

Many thanks and this is the same for all Grande Punto's is it, they don't differ? as the site on ebay guarantees that H7's are for Grande Puntos

Cheers Vimto Rolf, the angel lights came fitted with the LED side lights, they're like 3 small round neon blue bulbs running diagonally above each other also around both the main bulbs there are circles with led neon blue fitted around them so can you get the H1 bulbs in bright ice blue colour to match do you know?

standard headlights;

headlight: H4
indicator: 581
sidelights: 501

fogs: h1

angeleyes;

headlight: H1
full beam: H1
indicator: 581
sidelights: 2x 501 LED + the halos

sorry that cant be right.

my angel eyes are like so.
layout of passenger side light unit:
angel layout.jpg

1. Halos
2. Headlight = H1
3. Main beam = H1
4. Indicator = 581
5. sidelights = 501 LED x2

if you want bluer bulbs to go with the leds you will need a 6000K H1 H.I.D kit which retail for approx £70 off of H.I.Ds direct

Yes this looks the same as mine except my sidelight No 5 on your diagram if this is the small round blue ones I have 3 of instead of 2.
Also a friend of mine told me I'd be just as well to just get normal bright blue bulbs rather than going for the HID kit as I will only have to buy the bulbs rather than a kit which will still be a lot better than the origional bulbs and a lot cheaper?

No I was wrong about the side lights there is only 2, feel like a right idiot now lol.
But do I still ask for H1 bulbs if I don't wanna have to by a full kit or is there some other bright bulb I ask for not requiring the kit which will be brighter?

so do you have standard or aftermarket lights?

aftermarket.

This is correct. However. with normal bulbs you will get nowhere near the colour your after (believe me ive tried) and also with H.I.Ds you will be able to see a lot further.

Yep still ask for H1 bulbs. You will need to buy to pairs mind. So for good a good set your looking at £40.

Hi Rolf I have decided to go for the HID kit you recommended HID-Direct only thing is as I have angel lights like yourself will I have to buy an extra set of H1 HID bulbs?
Also would I be better off getting 8000k bulbs or is 6000k really blue enough?

yep you will need two hid sets 1 for main beam and one for normal headlights.

8000k is daft go for 6000k if you want a blue tinge or if you just want bright white go for 4300k

Is the 6000k a good blue tint tho coz some1 else told me its almost white and if I want a blue tint to go for 8000k??

whole point of hids is for them to be brighter than norrmal bulbs if you go for 8o00k this isnt the case hence a waste of time. 6000k is a good comprimise still way brighter than normal bulbs but with some blue to it.

Dont get HIDs for full beam. The bulbs take time to heat up so you flick to full beam and have no light. Just leave normal bulbs in there as its not likely you will use them.

depends how often you use main beam though. eg round here if you put main beam on it stays on and you dont need to bother dipping it all the while. plus once theyve warmed up the once for me upto about 5 mins after if i turn them on again they dont need to warm up.

but in this case as a general rule what matt says is right.

Still a little unsure about the 6000k-8000k thing 5 people have told me the 8000k looks amazing and is still bright but 2 others have said the same as you.
I also looked up on it and read that 6000k are 300% brighter than standard halogen and 8000k are 260% brighter which does still sound a hell of a lot brighter.
Really unsure which way to go :bang:
