Bottom line is IF your car has an adaptive ECU you may get some benefit, if it doesnt have an adaptive ECU the benefits wont be seen, except maybe the internal engine washing bit....

Doesn't matter to me if it doesn't do what it says on the tin or not! If it does give me a few more miles and a few more bhp then its a bonus! Only reason i use Tesco 99Ron is my company covers my fuel bills but i pocket the Clubcard Points ![]() ![]()

Posts: 49 Thanks: 3 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Re: Upgrade 1.4 t-jet As per the topic... I drive a Tjet so am a bit biased, but recently I drove a 1.2gp as a hire car. What a difference! The Tjet sits lower and handles the corners way, way better. And power difference - after driving a Tjet you would probably rather walk than go back to a 1.2. Tjet interior has less parts made from recycled bin liners, and is much better to look at (obviously I like the orange highlights on black seats as fitted to my car!). Blue & Me is great, especially the usb media player on which I have a put a 16Gb memory stick that contains just about every song I like listening to (makes those long hours on foreign motorways much easier if you can understand the lyrics!). Oh yeah, get the skydome... I can't say about economy on the 1.2, but this morning I drove 70 miles, mostly motorway at 70ish mph on cruise control, with 4 people in the car and the boot full of luggage - my trip computer is showing 41.2mpg for this trip. I drive to Holland 6-7 times a year and can get there and half way back on 1 tank, which is about 390 miles. That's not a one-off, driving-like-a-granny trip, but normal 'beat the locals' foreign motorway driving ![]()

You can call using the voice command of B&M, and it will also copy the phone book. It will not do A2DP streaming (as B&M doesnt support it) if you want to use the iPhone as an iPod to play your music (AAC/Mp3) then you will need the B&M Adapter (See Blue&Me part of forum) and the B&M Update (once again, see, B&M forum) Regards, Ben.

I had been driving one for about a week while my car was with the car doctors. It was a shock getting into it to start with as it was sooooo gutless. Then when I eventually got my car back, I nearly crashed the bloody thing into the back of another car as I just stupidly put my foot right down in order to get anywhere (as I had been doing in the 1.2) and shot off. It still feels very fast now - so maybe some getting used to is required lol. With the cornering, it was so easy to get tyre squeal with the 1.2! There is a particular corner I take 'normally' in my 1.9MJ and I had people looking at me because of all the noise in the 1.2! Having driven the 1.4T-Jet, I think you'll be much happier in it - just take it easy!!! Else you could very nearly go into the ar5e end of another car, which sod's law will dictate it being something pricey. |

Posts: 125 Thanks: 1 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Re: Upgrade 1.4 t-jet This is incorrect. My T-Jet is superb on fuel compared to to what i was driving before. Lowest ive ever managed to get (booting it ALL the time - nice stretch of 30 miles of b/a roads to and from work) i managed to get 320 miles from a tank of normal unleaded. Using Vpower, i manage to get 420 - 470 miles out of a tank. - driving normally, not like a granny :P Standard T-Jet. 3 Months odd old. Yes, its turbo'd, i prefered it to the M-Jet (i just personally prefer to rev a car, tbh, i find the limiter at 6,500 a little rubbish, but hey ho). Build quaility seems ok, a few little niggles ive got to have sorted / had sorted. Seat was clicking when anyone sat on it - sorted, something to do with the cushion. Fog lights steaming up - booked in for replacements. Breaks are squeeling there tits off after 5,000 miles. - booked in to be looked at. Blue&me mic is low - booked in for replacement. Rattle coming from the back - booked in to be looked at. Hope this helps!! ![]()

Posts: 857 Thanks: 23 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Re: Upgrade 1.4 t-jet I'm using a 99 plate 1.2 Punto.... Also will be upgrading soon, hopefully to a 1.4 T-Jet (Yay performance at last!)... Must say people on about 270miles to a tank is abit worrying. Cant really say what MPG i get from my 1.2, i think on Perry's the numbers between my old 1.2 & a new t-jet MPG wise were very similar, but i know a trip from bristol to wigan & back is pretty much when the fuel light comes on.. so thats *adds up* 344 motorway miles, id hope the t-jet would equal the same kind of mpg as long as i didnt flog the crap out of it Around town etc id guess its about 270-300 miles per tank on my 1.2 (Since i flog the hell out of it to get it to move!) So just wondering, do people think the t-jet will swallow my wallet petrol wise or leave me pretty much where i already am if driven like a almost-sane person? Oh, also how much does it cost to fill up a tjet from empty? my 1.2 is generally maxed out at £40 atm.

![]() | Re: Upgrade 1.4 t-jet at the moment, will cost you about £45 to fill from empty at 102.9 a litre. it will NOT get the same fuel economy as your 1.2, you'd be crazy to think it will. Although you should be able to break the 300 miles per tank barrier without driving like a granny
