Hi guys just after a bit of advice, I went for a quick spin down Tesco's this morning and after 5 mins of driving my ABS light came on. I arrived at at Tesco's parked up and did my shopping, 20 mins or so later when I started my Punto again it was still on but then went of 30 secs later. Is this something I should be worried about and get checked out or is it just one of those quirky things?

Also anybody what sort of price would I be looking at paying for new brake pads at Stoneacre? At my last service in December last year they were noted as being 60% worn but didn't change them then as I wasn't expecting to do much driving this year with working away a lot and I've only done about 1000 miles so far this year.

Get a diagnostic test ? i had the same prob... got it sorted under warrenty.. why go to stone acre for pads?? they really expensive fiat pads. like £64+vat... get a independet garage do them .. i have always serviced and done my own pads :) cheaper and easier :) plus i got the ramp to work with at work :)

it probaby is just warning you your pads are very low definatly go and gert the sorted but go to garage but not a dealer theyll have your eye balls out with the price and the quality is poor or get some green stuff pads ive just got mine of the ebc web site and they are very good i took it to a local garage and they fitted them and gave me a 6 month garantee all for £10(y)

Since my original post I've had another problem with my Punto, about a week and a half ago I noticed something had been leaking from the engine bay and on having a look my coolant had gone from just under the max level to just below the minimum. I filled it up again and everthing seemed fine with no leaks, but I took my car to Stoneacre today for it to be looked at under warranty and they had to replace the radiator.

They also said I've a faulty ABS sensor which is on order and should be getting fitted next week which is a bonus.

I had a similar problem, turned out to be the pins on the ABS pump had corroded, and they nearly refused to do it under warranty as it was classed as a electrical fault in the 3rd year! They fixed it in the end...but to be told that had happened on a three year old car i was not impressed.
