Hi, Im just wondering the general concensus out there and the law regarding these..

Basically i have never seen them in the UK but saw them when i was in the USA and they were dirt cheap in Wallmart so I bought and brought back a kit and literally 100's of the sticky rubber strips.

I've used them on literally dozens and dozens of tyres, my car and my friends cars and never ever had a problem with them, e.g. blow-outs, slow leaks. No problems what so ever. To me they work perfectly and considering it takes literally 20 seconds to fix your puncture with these I happen to think they are the best thing since sliced bread!

Problem lies here, one of my friend told me they were illegal in the UK!?!?! Is this true? it wouldn't suprise me considering the health and safety daft country we live in.:bang: (cant wait till we have to wear high vis vests and helmets while driving!).(y)

The fact they are not on the UK market speaks volumes........

There is a British Standard covering tyre repairs, BS AU159. Carrying out repairs using methods, equipment and materials not prescribed in the standard would put you in a grey area if you were to be involved in a serious accident/claim as a result of the tyre failing. VOSA/Police/Insurance inspectors would be all over the car like a rash and it wouldnt take them long to find a sub-standard repair and start pointing the finger and asking questions.

Tyre repairs are cheap, why put yourself and more importantly others at risk to save a few ££............. Get it done properly by someone who works to the standard and knows what they are doing.

Simply because it can be done at home in 20 seconds, for my experiance they have never failed/cant fail. if they did fail all you would get is a slow puncture..????
