has anyone seen or heard of a turbo being put into a 1.4 16v sporting?
im really kean to do it as ive heard you cant remap it at present.
i know people say just buy a t-jet, but id like to keep the car ive got a put a turbo in it, in the engine bay it looks like all they have done is removed the turbo! just wondering if anyone knows if the engine is set up to take a turbo or how would i know or any companys that could tell me! thanks!

Hi and Welcome to The Fiat Forum!
There is lots more to adding a turbo than just bolting it on, cost is usually prohibitive so the advice to change the car for a TJet is sound unless you have large funds. Insurance can also be an issue as it becomes a "modified" car not a standard model.

Sorry its just Life, can be done, but why would you bother? :p
 
Just buy a Tjet and move what ever you have done on your car over to one. You are looking at about 3-4k for the conversion, then increased insurance costs and then a devalued car as people in there right mind will just buy a Tjet if they want a punto with a 1.4T in it.
 
you will need to lower the compression of the engine with different pistons so it doesnt explode when it comes on boost, probably need to add an oil return, different cams and inlet, buy the turbo, get an exhaust manifold for it buy an intercooler and all the pipework for it and then find some management to run it all.

reeeeeeally wouldnt bother, sell it and get an M-Jet if you want propper turbo power
