ok so i've got a GP without the puddle lights in the door

and i want to fit puddle lights, now on a GP where they were fitted the wires would run from the light to the door coupling at pins 15 and 16, now does anyone know if the wiring loom into the door would be the same on all GP's, i.e. the wires from pins 15 and 16 would run to the body computer even if the puddle lights weren't fitted?

i wouldn't think they'd have sperate looms for car's with and without something as small as puddle lights so i'm thinking the wires would be there, which would allow me to retrofit the standard puddle lights and then wire them up to pins 15 and 16 in the door and they would then work

anyone got any experience with this? or know?

and does anyone have a list of the colour codes in eLearn? are they italian?

Yeah eleganzas do i think. Wiring might be in there as they use one loom for all models to save on cost.

Mine has them. As stated fitted on Elegenza models. The amount of times they have saved me from stepping into rivers is amazing......

I wonder is the loom for heated seats in??

Up to a certain point they probably will be but then you have to buy heated seats themselfs and tbh it aint worth it.

would they make 2 types of leather seat though? a heated and a non heated

just checked and the relevent wires are leaving the body computer so i'm thinking that they will be there inside the door, i've checked the seat coupling in mine and the wires aren't there for the heated seats, infact there are no extra wires, strange though there are 4 wires to the driver and 7 to the passengers what could all these be for?

The passenger seat has the OCS in it, so it can detect if there is a person in the seat or not. The drivers seat doesnt need this, as its obvious theres going driver (!)

ahh, suppose the other wires will be air bags and then seat belt sensor

Yeah as i imagine not alot of people have heated seats

you need to practice your parking mate

danielfay88...I think that the looms are different however it might just be a case of fitting new door looms if the wiring goes up to the A pillar.

how much would i be looking at there?

and are the body computers different depending on the options? is it just the looms that are different? or say would one with heated seats or one with parking sensors have different body computers?

if it was just the looms could you buy all the other parts for say parking sensors and just wire them into the relevant pins on the body computer, and then it would just recognise they were in? or would a fiat tech be able to turn them on using there computers?

wonderful thread. just ordered 2 lights too. drivers and for the co-driver. are they easy to fit?

I've got some puddle lights waiting to be fitted... and some footwell ones. I 'm just going to wire them into the interior light though.

yeah thats my fall back plan, but if there are already cables going into the door, why not? i'm going to see if i can get the door card off this lunch so will let you know how it turns out
