Re: Brakes Time GPS MJET

I had my pads changed before and they still screeched like there was no tomorrow.

BUT Of every car I've driven, nothing stops as quickly as the GP regardless of screeching.

Re: Brakes Time GPS MJET

If the screeching is at the back (Sporting as we have rear discs) maybe you need the modified brake dampeners, alternativley it could just be brake dust between the disc pad.

Most modern brakes now make stupid nosies due to changes in the composition of the material e.g. no Asbestos.

Not ready for pads just yet at 28K but getting some brake squeal if I brake when not flying straight & level i.e. if I brake with some lock-on.

Some 20 years back I recall watching a Fiat guy change the pads on my Regata 85S. He chamfered the sharp edges off the pads with a flat file & claimed it eliminated brake squeal. Fairly common knowledge - sure to be something on that in FF if you search.

Re: Brakes Time GPS MJET

Still confused as to which EBC Part fits the MJET.

D1436 at 53.54 a pair - no other info on what it may fit
D414 at 50.99 each - seem to fit old bravo 1.9 and alfa 155

Has anyone actually fitted EBC discs?

Aaaah.

D1436 - Are PCD 100 and also fit a *Cough*Corsa*Cough*
D414 - Are PCD 98 and also fit the Stlio, Old Bravo, etc.

Other than that both are the same spec disc.

Next Q is am i definitley PCD100?

I got a front set of discs and pads from brakes4u.co.uk for about 40, well chuffed, fitted easy peasy. They arent green stuff just normal but they stop the car so im happy.
