well im going down the piggy back box myself, been tossing up what to do for a few weeks now, my only concerns with a remap are, distance from me to the venue, warranty issues should they arise, my nice tyres and car getting ragged on a rolling road ( im very sensative with my pride n joy).
cost aint really an issue cas either way i think you gotta spend around £300 ish. on a +tive its all set up peach for your specific engine.

on the flip side a box is just a generic map to suit several similar car engines, not tailor made for your own engine, so you kinda get what your given and like it, unless you get a rolling road tune up after you fitted it?

now i changed me mind again, i dont know.........

Warranty issues are as much a concern with piggy back as with re-map. The ECUs are quite smart in these days with the data loggers increased storage capabilities and the awareness of staff that has to examine claims.

your avatar displays you as a rather oldish looking man and the camera never lies....50 ish????:p and driving a remapped gp sporting aint that a highlight of your life at your age.you can have all the torque you want/bhp....but your still in denial that you own a young mans car that handles so badly when it comes to a bend or a corner as for my car....i am under no illusions what it is...it was hot hatch of the year with auto express/top gear magazine enough said old man

I think you are not a good enough driver making this statement.

Yea I'm54 ur point is? At my age I can appreciate and afford my car and its performance is more than adequate, its also paid for. My SV1000S was the fun transport of my life but I wanted money for my excellent GPS so sold it.

Now then little lad....Would you fancy your chances manno a manno? You speak like a lonely little boy, with 1 noted friend (banned) over a thousand Posts and just 2 Thanks.......so u aint very helpful....

Your Posts dont make much sense so your not very bright....

I'd engage in a battle of minds with u Jassyo but your silly comments indicate ur intellectually disarmed..... so your no threat either..... time for you to run along.(y)

remapped gp or not AGAINST a proper hot hatch no you have no chance against a CTR EVEN A BOG STANDARD AGP you will feel total embarresment.i owned a m-jet gp for 2 and a half years so i know the car inside out its good points and bad.wake up kiddo:p

bar the usual childish 'my car if faster than yours' etc... can anyone help the OP as he kindly asked?
hes already got himself a crd 2 tuning box so i guess he has took some advice by now. i bet his car is faster than mine now cas mine is bog standard and weighed down with a baby seat and a 30 foot boot sub (slightly fibbing there):)

So why come back here if you don't own a GPS anymore...

The way you're carrying on you won't reach Ffoxy's age...Now trot off and make yourself a nuisance on an owner's forum of whatever car you own now.... T.W.A.T... (y)

Have been looking at DTUK, DTE Systems and Chipexpress, and all seem to offer similar gains, though Chipexpress can be adjusted so currently favouring that one.
I know lots of people on here are going to say get a re-map, but I want something that is going to be easy to remove and un-traceable if any warrenty work needs doing.
Also would you reccomend I have the car serviced before fitting a tuning box, its due very soon anyway?

From what I've read mate I'd take a look at the Steinbauer P-box, getting some good reviews from Alfa owners.

End of the day she paid >£17k for her's and it's broke down.... Mine cost <£10k, both brand new and has never let me down.

Ok, I have had niggles but I've never driven a car this good at this price! :)
