Have you had it serviced or anything recently?

Re: Re-Map Has Blown 3 Injectors

My wifes Seat had similar problems all pointing to mechanical failures. Based on the my local independant garage diagnostics it would have been all too easy to replace lots of mechanical parts and still not solved the problem.

Eventually went to the dealer. It took the dealer hours to trace the fault, which came down to an Ecu fault which was eventually replaced.

As has been said the remap may have upset the Ecu. The dealer is probably best placed to diagnose the fault properly.

Whichever way it sounds expensive. Best of luck.

if he is from same company and admitting that they set it to high then give them the bill, a rolling road would have shown you the fueling and could have been tweaked down if needed.

fiat dealer will still know them codes have been there even if they are deleted, it just makes their job of finding the real fault a bit harder if you delete them

What can a rolling road detect?

Can it show if the injector's or turbo's faulty? Would it detect the suspect batch of Garrett turbo's fitted to early GPS's?

Re: Re-Map Has Blown 3 Injectors

So a rolling road will tell you your fuel rail pressure, boost pressure, injection sequence etc?

Anyone care to offer a decent explanation of exactly what paremters a rolling road can analyse?

Odd this... all said before but TBH I have had no such issues in 15,000 miles since my Red Dot re-map. I'd be looking at what the re-mappers did, sounds like a generic map that isnt specifically bespoke for you particular car. Some of those symptoms sound like the EGR to me but thats a guess, were the injector fault codes read by Examiner at a Fiat dealer?

it shows a fuel line, if it don't look right then you investigate why, experienced proper mappers will know what is wrong though and sort it out. come to next rr day an i will show you

A RR run shows if the map has made the car into a derv smoker Stroppy Lad
Mine was a bit smokey initially but a tweek on the day cured it, Mehsteg took his back after a few weeks I think and they fixed his too.

The OP may as well have used a tuning box if no RR facility was available IMO the result would have been the same

Thanks Dave...

If you promise to check my EGR valve too you got a deal...

I'll even pay for a power run to check how my remap is running, as long as you don't take the piss if it doesn't match the figures from my first one!

Had my GPS rolling roaded up Shrewsbury, there really is very little smoke, contrary to what many folk have said about ANGEL remaps. Even when the geezer floored it on a power run the garage was pretty smoke free.

I thought tuning boxes only alter fuel rail pressure?

heheh I'm cool with the Angel/ Red Dot thing geez... tuning boxes are an ECU con trick whatever they do, my point was following the OP's results he may as well have bought a tuning box off flea-bay, I'd be straight back to the mappers personally and not with my usual face either!

Some good points, GP injectors appear to be very reliable (never know one to fail) and strange 3 have gone. Worth spending the money getting a good diag done at good dealership. Has anyone measured the injector resistance/spill off yet...first place I would go.
