I'm looking for a new air filter for the standard filter box of my 1.9 mjet.Any ideas?

Does need cleaning though. I could built a tarry nest with what I scraped off of mine yesterday. Have you ever cleaned yours? You can buy a kit from the net, and makes a hell of a difference IMO.

I just want to change it with a better one.I had an induction kit on my previous GP (1.4) and the sound was great.I know it needs cleaning, i prefer that than having to change it over and over...

nope, never cleaned it- I've asked the dealer to clean it tommorow when it goes for a service though, with the kit i got instead of replacing the filter.

Just stick with standard mate, you wont see much if any difference if replacing the stock air filter with an alternate one in the existing housing.

I'm not looking to see any difference from just one filter, just better "breathing" and better material than the standard one.

I've found one from a friend, it's a BMC but the dimensions are 21x20.1 cm.My filter box is 21.1x20.3 cm.He told me he fitted on a tjet. Will it be able to fit in mine?

Ive been after one for a while too, where are you getting it from, I guess they are not in the UK

yes the bmc is an excellent filter. we used them on some seats ibizas and the results where dashing!it felt like the old turbo engines from 80's.above 4.000 rpm the motor literally kicked.

probably not unless you have a T-jet. But it only takes 5 mins so try it out.

T-jet element is different to 1.2/ 1.4 8v and 1.4 16v iirc, not sure about the diesels

Good idea, but i think i'll combine the filter with painting my alloys.I'll do them both in the same city;)

If you want sth cheap get a panel filter.

Otherwise if you wish to spend more money, get a CDA.
