I dont know about that. yeah maybe for electricity, the aluminiums to thin to act as a heat collector. I'll have to measure the temperature inside the tube,
I'm happy with it.. and actually thats all that matters.(y)(but for the recored THE CARS FASTER WITH THE K&N)

im not trying to belittle you. its basic primary school science.

insulators: plastics, wood, cloth

conductors: metals (some better than others)

applies to both heat and electricity.

Reactions: +1.
OMG I cant believe it, I never thought it possible. F**K sake i'm wrong.
Aluminium is like a super conducter of heat Thats why they use it in heat sinks and stuff.
Oh well :D
That being as it is the pipe still does its job and thats fed the K&N with copious amounts of cold air. The pipes so dam fat that tonnes of air goes in. And cause its so thin its constantly cooled by the passing air.
I must conseed one point though in stop start traffic the K&N will be S**t and for a few seconds after I get stopped at the lights its performance may be inhibited by warmth.

Some Sharks can only breath when there moving forwards. My cars like that. A preditor when moving. (y)

Im board of this thread now so i'll post a Dyno run test result one day.(y)
Ste..

we have before already tested this set up on a RR the same day, an cold air feeds make no difference at all, the top of TB filter is still down on power over standard, if any cold air is lucky enough to find its way into the feed it gets pushed out the way by rising hot air at the other end

Only aftermarket filter I would consider is a BMC CDA or any other enclosed filter, unless you want noise, open cones are useless

as stated

F$%k sake its still slow (but not as slow)
1.2 power:(

get bigger (hence more powerful) engine

Dunno you have a picture fail.

:ROFLMAO:

Did you'll not notice I put this mod in styling not performance.

I'd would have move it to 'styling' section anyway;)

We have a performance section:confused:

cough**owned**cough

:eek::eek:

By Rolf aswell lol

:eek::eek::eek:

F*ck me.....I think you should link this thread in your sig Rolf :p

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the throttle body heated by the engine to prevent fuel freezing in cold weather.

Threfore and cold air is gonig to be heated anyway rendering any such cold air mods pretty useless.

It's summer take the pipes of and link them to get a colder throttle body and you'll be getting somewhere.:D

Oh and as well as making the engine breathe in better you need to get it to breathe out better for total performance, that includes gas flowing, polishing, exhausts, cam profiles etc.

Like the red hoses though. I want some green ones:p

Why bother tho? it's only a 1.2

I hada seat arosa 1litre, i didn't bother with any induction kits and it gives little gain in power and kinda looks pathetic. ATTO.

You can get some good gains relative to the starting point of course if you use an insulated pipe and get the filter on the end of the pipe as opposed to the throttle body.

Needs to be coupled with a re-map as a minimum though to get the most out of it.

Easier option is to swap for a 1.4 lol

aww, thats a bit cruel! lol almost as cruel as me calling it a peanut roaster in another thread, lol! 200 note GSR induction and remap is still cheaper than a new motor, and might even get it up to a 1.4 8v BHP!!:p
