EDIT: i dont know if the GP's come with the larger diameter front discs but still drums at the back like the dynamic sports, but mine are pretty damm good to be honest, and the back end of the car can become very light under hard braking.

YES, the GPs come with the larger front discs and rear drums.

you asked a question & despite all the replies you ignore them:confused: If you want to fit rear discs (at great expense) then do so but you wont feel any benefit.
:eek::confused::eek::confused::eek::confused::eek::confused::eek:

thats the point!! i never said i wanted to put rear discs on!, i completely agree its a huge cost and not needed, thats what i've said through the whole thread,

i think we've come to the conclusion, dispite the confusion, above that there may just be a fault with my own rear brakes, as others have no problem at all with theirs

so can anyone help with how i can check this? and what i should look for?

I know in many cars you can "self adjust" the rear drum brakes by going in reverse at about 10mph and slam on the brakes. You'll need to do it a few times to make sure they are fully adjusted.

I don't know if the new Puntos do this or not though.

I prefer to have the brakes properly looked at, instead of doing the "self adjusting" route.

It's an option if you don't know about brakes and don't want to take it to a shop first.

i'm gonna leave it for the tech's to check out week on saturday as its going in for some blue and me updates

unless someone knows how to check them? what to look for?

You still haven't - despite being asked - explained why you think it's the rear that's letting the braking down? Drums are self-adjusting and if they're ok on the handbrake then typically that indicates they're working fine.

Sort out your front brakes, your suspension and your driving style and you'll forget you even have rear brakes.

you might have to pay to get the brakes inspected so be aware of this.

to check brakes use a brake roller machine.

nice one i'll check with them before they start, although can't see them doing it for free, they wanted to charge me labour to fit car mats!!:eek:!!

when i bought the car i bought the car mats that they told me were fixed and would need some screws putting in, and they said if i wanted to leave them with them to fit ready for me picking it up they'd have to charge labour!!

told em where to go, then found out its only two little screws on the drivers matt!! most people would agree to that and pay!
