Hey guys and gals,

Long time lurker finally posting here! I was just wondering if someone could help me answer a concern I had on this car I've been looking at.

I currently drive a 2006 1.4 active sport and thought a sporting would be a nice upgrade. I've found a 2007 one close by which looks a nice bit of kit, apart from two points. 1) it has a 'starjet' 1.4 engine and 2) its has a tinted glass roof. Now the only other sportings I've seen with these equipped are either the t-jet versions or the new GP models.

Now as much as i'd love a 120bhp t-jet I simply cannot afford to insure a group 6 car (whereas the normal 95bhp sporting is a group 4, like my current car), so I'm wondering if anyone knows if these two options could be had on the 'standard' sporting? and if so is this 'starjet' engine a 95BHP model?

Cheers for your help guys!

Cobra

The Starjet is the 1.4 16v Engine i believe so would be the 95 Bhp model. And the Skydome roof is an option on all Grande's i believe. Its basically a T-Jet without a Turbo :)

have you had an insurance quote for the T-Jet? becasue i was the same i had a 1.4 active sport and upgraded to the T-Jet and i thought the insurance would be high but it only went up an exta £80 which i thought was pretty good (y)

Nice one, thanks alot guys! its a great looking machine (the 17 inch rims alone really make a world of difference imo), I just didn't want to have to trail all the way to the garage only to find out its a car I couldn't insure.

Speaking of insurance, unfortunately i'm a young driver (21) in the first year of car ownership and the sporting itself added another £200 on my already hefty premium so dread to think what a t-jet would add!

Cheers,

Cobra (y)

im 21 with no NCB and I insure my 1.9 sporting for £1400 its the same price for a T-jet and even the Abarth

try bell.co.uk

im 20 with 2 yrs NCB, just had my renewal through at £1,030 with morethan but i wanted cheaper so looked about and went with admiral who advised me to add an additional driver, premium for the year with them with my mum as the additional driver (will never allow her to drive it though) was £713! :D(y)

try them, everytime i use confused.com they come out top!

i'm 20 with 1 years full no claims and one years named driver no claims and i'm paying £787 with direct line. The full years no claims brought it down from £1200 to £787.
