I have a problem with the ventilation fan in my GPS. When i turn it on 2, 3 or 4 it causes a lot of vibrtaion. Its noisey and the whole dash rumbles. It is a low vibration. I also think it affecting the power of the air flow. My first guess is there is something stuck in it? Is it possible to access the fan and have a look in there? Is it under the glove box?

could well be something stuck in it as you rightly say (have a look, only 3 x 5.5mm bolts) found leafs in loads of heater motors.

I have a similar but different issue. My far left passenger vent has a high piched ticking noise coming from it, only when i have the fan on 1, i asume its part of the fan catching on its surrounding, though I dont know if each vent has its own fan??

It doesnt vibrate the dash or anything and its quite quiet but with it being high pitched you can hear it nearly all the time. The only thing i can compare it to is if you were to put a needle in a test-tube and shake it around. When i turn the fan off the noise slows and stops as the fan does.

I dont suppose you happen to have any direction as to where to look, you mention leafs in the heater motor, where would i find that - or is that a really daft question?!

leaves get sucked in intake & trapped in the fan part of the motor itself hence making noise.

i have the same problem, in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear the dash vibrates. does anyone know how to get rid of that noise. ill live out the country so id say theres a load of leaves in there. any directions on how to fix it myself?

Same... i noticed a vibration about a week ago. I hate tinkering as i usually make things worse. Would a dealer sort it out?

ye the dealer will sort it out, he found 2 hand fulls of leaves in the ventilisation system in my'n before. its just with the amount of problems my car has had there sick of the sight of me so id prefer to sort it out myself if anyone knows how to?

just removed my heater motor due to it vibrating like a rabbit! found one leaf in it but the lower bearing was starting to seize up quick motor strip down and a squirt with some service lube and she is as good as new! p.s peice of **** to remove lay in the passager foot well look up undo on T20 screw pull passenger footwell trunking away undo power cable and 3x 5.5mm screws and pull motor out took 5 mins to remove!!

on refitting just ensure the power connector is correctly shoved all the way home
