Posts: 3 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | Spare wheel? Hi guys (and gals), 1st post, Returning to the Fiat marque after quite a while, had an N reg Punto 55 s for 8 years from new, loved that car, such a workhorse. I'm trading up from my 56 reg LR Freelander to a brand new GP 1.4 8v, Exotica red, electric sunroof and air con. Being old school (sorry skool) was a little disturbed to find that a spare wheel is no longer standard equipment. I've asked for a spare as an accessory, the salesman (bit of a dick) said Fiat being Fiat this would have to be ordered as, rim, tyre & jack (toolkit) and would come in at £210, this would be £241.50 inc VAT. I've also asked for side rubbing strips (told you I was old school) and a set of mats. GP is so well specced I couldn't think of anything else ![]() Any thoughts on the Fix & Go system? (i.e. have I just wasted 241 quid) Pick up the GP on 26/03/09, won't get much sleep between now and then, buying a new car always has that effect on me (and the GP is such a bloody good looking car). I asked the dick (sorry, salesman) about the subwoofer kit and he said it was a factory fit, is this true? Cheers Graham

Hi and welcome back, Just a quick question, why did you go for the 8v and not the 16v version?,for the extra £400 it is a much better car, plus you don't really need the spare wheel as you get free AA cover for the first 12 months anyway so if the repair kit did not work you just call the AA (this would then save you £240) ![]()

I've always liked the style of the Punto and a 3 door is more practical for my needs. So, when I saw this red Punto with the sunroof open I fell in love with it (I know, I know, we get lots of sunshine in the UK ![]() The reasons I'm going for the 8v is that it's the one on offer in the showroom, the gear change in the Freelander is starting to get a little stiff so I wanted to offload it asap, they're giving me the px I wanted, plus I'm not very good at waiting for things. I'm sure had I asked about other models the salesman would have reeled of the spiel about not being able to guarantee the same discounts. I know what you're saying about the spare wheel and the AA, but for the peace of mind I'm gonna get I think it's money well spent even if I never have to use it.
