...Sorry im dont speek good english

sorry for this...

I've just told him in Greek about BOV in diesel engines.
Ok, curry on...

a bov is actualy vacum operated. a feed taken from the inlet manifold which can tell there is a build up of pressure which in turn operates a valve which vents the air to atmosphere or re-circualtes.

They arent good for the car. Deisel engines shouldnt have a BOV on them.

why on my Grande Punto 1.9 Diesel got a "whooosh!" sound everytime i release my accelerator pedal, if no BOV on Diesel? wheres thats noise come from?

Grande Punto MJTD 1.9, 6speed

I get the same whoosh noice if I accelerate in any gear and lift off at around 2000 revs. Quite satisfying noise really.

Ive been getting the same in my 1.6 punto diesel recently. It normally has a little whistle when it spools but if I lift off around 1500 or slow my engine down fast by dipping clutch etc it makes a flutter like a wastegate. Now is this backpressure in the turbo creating the choppy sound or is it a wastegate? Hearing the noise at 1500rpm from just lifting off lead me to think wastegate but I didnt kno if the car had one or was just a recirculating bov. Thanks.
