Hi All,
Can anyone tell me the correct procedure to change the diesel fuel filter. I notice there is a bleed valve on top of the filter body. I haven't had a diesel with electric fuel pump before and wonder if this bleed valve is to bleed the air out once the filter is changed or to remove the pressure before disconnecting the unions. If it is to bleed the air from the system will this be with ignition on or will it need cranking also?

So just unplug everything that goes into it and re plumb in the new one -simple as that?
Thanks

More or less yes. I open the bleed valve and attached a small hose between it and a small bucket, flicked the key on and off a few times to prime it, closed the valve and started it up. I might not have needed to have done this but when starting a diesel, I know they are hard to start when there's air about...:)
