Joys of dealing with peter lol.

Personally I'd settle for a remap...180-190 bhp is plenty of power for this car....

The car can barely cope physically with this much power, besides in a straight line in a high gear, so I can't see the point in being greedy and adding even more...imo of course... ;)

If I want anything faster I'll change the car not add more mods...

well my bro fiat 20v turbo pushing 275bhp is very fun and my mates 1.6 del sol Vtec turbo pushing way over 300bhp is even better kills a 650bhp skyline that the mechanics owns that put the ball bearing turbo on his car.

What point are you making?

I have owned several hot hatches and most had less power than my remapped GPS, but believe me they would blow it away on a track or in the real world for that matter... The GPS is not a Hot hatch even when tuned up to the maximum!

You might have 200bhp+ out of a GPS but for overall performance it will get laughed at by much less powerful cars....

Puntokris had god knows how much power and he was chuffed keeping up with a Fiesta Zetec S...lol....

If you enjoy driving really fast in straight lines...carry on ;)

Fiat 20VT is designed to put down 220bhp and has a LSD to help with a 50 bhp increase.. Not a good choice for a comparison with a diesel hatchback with no LSD taking a 70 BHP increase. ;)

As for the Del Sol whats the point in 300BHP? You would be going to fast for anyone to see the highlights in your hair. :D

The fiesta had 170bhp

The ST PK has now has 170 bhp...not the Zetec S he had a rumble with.. :)

And if it was an ST (although I'm sure PK said it was a Zetec S) it would have pissed all over him even standard.....oh unless it was driven by Stevie Wonder... :D

And he doesnt own that anymore either.....

Im not sure it would tbh, i managed to sort an ST out the other day, no problem!

One of you is talking about straight line here and the other is talking about what would be what in corners :p ST pwns in corners but remapped Mjet in straight lines. Even i can do ST's in a straight line.

I thought we were all talking about real life driving, where the roads aren't dead straight, any monkey can drive fast in a straight line...

@adamcot, if you sorted out an ST, on anything but a straight road, he either wasn't bothering or you're the Stig in disguise...

I dunno, my real-life driving consists of Dual-carriageways and traffic lights :) Managed to find the cornering limits at the weekend though, diesel lump and soft-ish suspension definitely hampers progress a tad.

I'd think of tuned GPS's as mini-grand(e)-tourers rather than hot hatches - is by far the most apt description I can come up with :D You can cover a lot of miles on a tank and make rapid progress with ease (up to reasonable gearing limitations), you're never gonna win many track days though!

:yeahthat: I agree that the ST would have me in a corner, but as Jimrod says, my "real life driving" is dual carriageways, A roads and motorways. Its dependant on the user I guess.....

Sorry to steal the thread, bolt...

I am considering getting my GPS remapped... I've just recently covered 6k miles, shall I wait a bit longer to wear the engine in a bit more?

Has anybody had any grief from dealers regarding warranty? Have you put your car in for problems/services and they've voided warranty due to the remap? What's the reality of the garage checking the ECU?

I've got my GPS on a PCP Lease, so I hand back in about 2.5 years time, am I correct in saying redot will remove the map for free, if the need be?
