Mornin' guys,

Just off to Red Dot in a bit and have to top up my oil, only had the car a couple of weeks so no idea what's in there - If I go by the service book I should use a "synthetic based 5w-40 diesel oil", does this mean semi-synthetic is ok or only fully synthetic? If it differs from what's in there already will it cause a problem? I will get a full oil change done next week when it's back to the dealer in anycase...

Cheers for any info!!

Jim.

Cheers!

Turns out on checking the oil this morning that all was A-Ok, think it must just have been a long day at work yesterday!

Thanks for the help :)

my hand book says for Petrol engines:

Synthetic Based oils GRADE 5W-40 Fiat 9.55535-m2Qualification

original oil:
Selenia K

Oil for Diesel Engines:
Synthetic Based oils GRADE 5W-40 Fiat 9.55535-N2Qualification

original oil:
Selenia WR

and in the foot notes..

"If using non original SAE 5-W-40 Products, Oils with a minimum ACEA A3 Specifications for petrol Engines and ACEA B4 specifications for diesel engines are admitted; In this event top engine proformance is not guaranteed.

Use of products with low-quality properties than ACEA A3 and ACEA B4 could cause damages to the engine that are not covered by teh warenty"

hows the map?

Sweet! Apart from possible turbo issue - unrelated to the map but they found it and of course if it's working harder won't be helped by the more enthusiastic driving - went through all the details on my "questions for Red Dot Map guys..." thread :)
