The other day I got 1000kms (621 miles) to a tank of diesel in my 1.3 multijet. :)

The low fuel light lit up at 869kms and then I got 4 audible low fuel warnings..

no way, i dont even get 600 km from mine

i get average 43mpg out of the 1.4 8v all A and B roads to work and back never drops below, thats a ecodrive for ya ;)

Tris you got the same engine what do you normaly get?

Computer tells me im getting about 42ish now, but when i worked it out im getting near 39.9 so 40mpg.

when i first got it at 600 miles, i was getting 34mpg, so its getting better.

This is on the motorway and then A and B roads to work and back

EDIT: i started using ecodrive for a bit, but now it just annoys me.

im gonna run my tank till its basically empty, and leav 1 gallon in a reserve can so that when it runs out. i trip my meter and put the gallon in, then im gonna fil it back up, use the eco drive and then see what i get to a tank
:D simple. im now getting 37.5mpg round town :D but i hardly use it now. the most miles it does is on a saturday night when im working and i do about 60 miles

My 1.3's done about 900 miles now, and i'm getting 46mpg around London town.

That's pretty good no?

Anyone think i'll be able to get it higher? Maybe to around the 50mpg mark, once it's done a few more miles?

yeah, diesels just get better and better with mileage. If your getting 46 now, i reckon when its run in a bit more, say 10k ish, you should be getting 52+mpg

tbh ive learnt to live with the 32mpg im getting around town. it was better without the gsr induction kit but on long journeys it doesnt seem to make much difference. recently drove my car with 3 people and a load of luggage 110 miles on A roads and got 42 mpg for the journey. which i thinks not bad at all for a petrol. its about 10 or 11 pence per mile i think.

Im getting around 30mpg in 1.4 16v with mostly countryside driving. Managed to get over a 10 miles journey 42 mpg but that was late at night with completely clear roads and i could go as slow as i liked lol, took me twice aslong to get home though.
