Have had a quiet afternoon looking around the site. My breather pipe was replaced recently at dealer's free under warranty and at that time noticed that I had lost some oil but was still way above the low mark.

Car has never lost any sinceI bought it 15 months ago. Required a wee top up this morning.

This usual ? Car due 36k service in 3k.

any modern engine will go through a little oil between servicing

I've topped up my 1.2 twice between services as it had dropped a bit (though not right to the min). It depends on the individual car, the engine type and the kind of driving you do. Mines been topped up about 5k after the service after having been driven in a mixture of motorway cruising and harsher b road conditions.

Around 2/3rds A roads to and from work and the rest as town driving. Not much traffic around as I tend to go to work before busy times and mostly at quiet times on the way home.

Have noticed like some others that mpg goes down a bit through the winter. Last year was better but its been brass monkeys a lot of times this year, which I don't mind as the pffice is usually roasting.
