Car is booked in to Fiat Warrington next week so they can have a look at a number of issues.

1. Wheels humming, more noticeable at 30/40 mph (hope it's not wheel bearings)
2. Rear brakes locking when car has been left stationary overnight
3. Condensation
4. Door rattle (possibly the lock)
5. Leather on steering wheel has gone a bit funny.
6. clip on the seceret flap underneath wheel arch has fallen off, no idea how.
7. blue & me - can't download address book since getting new phone, tried by cable but still no joy.

Just a few isues to keep them going :D

They want the car overnight because of the rear brakes locking, so they are giving me a courtsey car for the day, i just have to pay £10 for the insurance, which i think is really good actualy (y)

I've got the same issue with the brake drum, I just assumed it was getting stuck due to the overnight cold etc, going in for a service next month anyway. Get it sorted then.

for the brake problem, a quick solution, dont put hand brake on, leave in gear. But yea get it sorted at the garage, just a solution if ur worried about not being able to go anywhere in the morning

Just back from the dealers (Warrington Motors) so here's an update on the issues and some other eyebrow raising issues.

1. Wheels humming, more noticeable at 30/40 mph (hope it's not wheel bearings)

Can't remember what she said about the humming noise cause i was having a heated discussion about the brakes :D Will have to speak to them again

2. Rear brakes locking when car has been left stationary overnight

In order to find out what is wrong with rear brakes they want to strip the rear brakes and possibly clean them. This became a bit of (just a little bit) a heated discussion. They want a hundred and something pounds  because the car has done 21K they will not cover it under warranty, but if the car had done only 12K and under they would do it under warranty :bang:

She also said that it's not unusual for discs and pads to be replaced at 21K should they need doing, though i don't think they do. Cost of discs and pads £265

3. Condensation

Can't find any fault

4. Door rattle (possibly the lock)

Stripping the door assembly down to find out what the problem is - being covered under warranty.

5. Leather on steering wheel has gone a bit funny.

Replacing the steering wheel - covered under warranty.

6. clip on the seceret flap underneath wheel arch has fallen off, no idea how.

The clip is attached to whole under arch lining so and does not come seperate, so they are going to replace the whole lining - covered under warranty.

7. blue & me - can't download address book since getting new phone, tried by cable but still no joy.

Phone not supported (LG Viewty) mechanic showed me where to find the list of compatible phones for blue & me.

Stereo is also being replaced under warranty as CD's keep getting stuck.

They also found some other issues

Rear shock noisy - both (hope so) being replaced under warranty.

They also mentioned something about a rear brake light switch, but can't remember what exactly.

And low and behold, drop link bolts - they also mentioned they are going to have to be replaced, i think thats what she said. Yet this is the cars third trip to Fiat, including a service, and the drop link bolts have only just been mentioned - hmm.

So they need the car for a full 2 days to resolve all the issues, but i told them that they may as well wait until they get the stereo in. In all quite a happy trip and glad i went back to warrington motors.

Just a litle update.

I got back in touch with Fiat on Tuesday about this humming noise as they did not mention anything with regards to the humming. They were adament on stripping the rear brakes :bang::bang: even though i kept saying what for the humming noise and sounding puzzled.

Yesterday i took my car to a garage where they have been servicing my cars for about the last 5 years and asked him to look at it. My suspision about the wheel bearing was confirmed, NSR wheel bearing gone

Took it straight to fiat and gave the lovely girl on the desk the good news. Oh that's dangerous she said :bang: duh hence the reason why i said HUMMING NOISE SUSPECT WHEEL BEARING!!! when i brought it in the first time.

It's booked in for the 18th to get just the heel bearing done. It's a 2 day job she tells me, must be some wheel bearing to need a 2 day job, but getting a courtsey car, hence the reason it's being done on the 18th as no courtsey car is available till then, and i need the car cause it's my only transport.

Parts on order for everything else!

:D Oops (looks up) i did say little update :D

The rear brakes are so expensive mate because the car has ABS, rear disks with ABS cars are all pretty expensive. £190 for rear disks alone on my 182cup for example.

 shocking mate

Just checked price on shop4parts for GPS rear brakes

http://www.shop4parts.co.uk/index.cfm?action=catalogue.list£66.04 for two rear discs, not that they need doing just yet, though there is a bit of a lip on the rear discs

Rear brake pads £44.33 for the set (y)

get the disc and stuff done at a indipendant garage :) wont affect the fiat warrenty but will be cheaper :p

Get everything done at an independant!! I use a company called Alfashop here in Norwich. They are cheaper quicker and have a much better service than my local dealer. And as they are all Fiat/Alfa trained specialists, the work does not affect my warranty!

There is a little garage round the back of where i work, i've been taking my cars to him for years, though not a specialist in any manufacturer as such, the guy is absolutley spot on and have never faulted any work he has done in the past.

I'll take it to him when the time comes.

He even has a jet engine in his garage and wait for it.... his latest new toy ... a Royal Navy harrier jet just outside the garage :D

Sounds good. Ive got a new set of front discs and pads ordered from them so we shall see what they are like. GSR are also doing braided brake lines now aswell incase anyone is interested.
