Just thought i would come and give you another little update

Car went back in to Warrington Motors yesterday, supposedly to have the NSR wheel bearing replaced. I was asked when i wanted my car back when booking it in, looking all confused, i told them it was supposed to be in for 2 days whilst you do the wheel bearing, but was told they are just going to have a look and see if it is the wheel bearing and what parts they will need to order, ground hog day comes to mind here hmmm. With that i left to my bros for the morning, and half way to the train station i got a call, it was fiat, do you know your booked in to have a courtsey car, yep fully aware, but if they are only going to diagnose the problem no point in paying £10 to go on Fiat insurance for a few hours.

After drinking plenty tea, an afternoon fry-up, plenty og GT5 prologue, and about 4 phone calls later to fiat, they advise me that all the other parts have arrived in and the are going to keep hold of the car and do all the other jobs, so i went back to Fiat on got courtsey car, happy days you would think.... Nothing is ever so simple!!

Fiat phoned nice and early today, and i spoke to mechanic, he was saying that he could not find anything wrong with wheel bearings, and wanted to know who diagnosed the problem and also wanted their phone number, so i quite gladly gave him what he wanted to know, and he said he was going to take another mechanic out to see if he could find the problem :bang::bang:.

I phoned the garage who diagnosed the problem (classic Autos) to see if Warrington Motors have been in touch with them about the wheel bearing issue, NO they haven't, so why the hell did they want to know!!

I phoned Warrington Motors and told them that, if they cannot find any problems with wheel bearing i would get it done at Clasic Autos, drop the faulty wheel bearing on their desk, and they can refund me the cost of the repair, NO we wouldn't refund you the cost.

Just been contacted by Warrington Motors, and they have told me to keep hold of the courtsey car until tomorrow, they are now going to replace both rear wheel bearings.... hmm hang on a minute did they not just say this morning that they couldn't find a fault, and they were adament it was probably due to rear brakes which need to be stripped and cleaned :bang::bang:

So jobs getting done:

Drop link bolts
Both rear wheel barings
Both rear shocks
Under wheel arch liner
Door assembly being stripped to find the cause of the knocking noise

As for the stereo, well that's in Germany they tell me, no good to me being in Germany :D apparently they have another three stereo's of the same awaiting to be delivered.

Dodgy Dealer dude... I dropped by my dealer on the off chance yesterday, as I have a humming wheel bearing too... may be getting quite common. Anyhow, desk lady asked DET to take a drive with me, DET agreed its a rear wheel bearing but couldnt identify which one. So, into the garage it went, up on the lift straight away even tho they are busy (on 4 days and let an apprentice go) and they spun my wheels up individually and at revs representing 40mph there was the on-side rear wheel bearing humming away as if it had forgot the words...

So I am booked in for Monday! Simplez! (y)

Woohoo finally got my car back and i'm well pleased. New steering wheel feels gorgeous :D handling definitely better since they have done the drop link bolts, no more rattling from the door.

They took the stereo out for it to be replaced, even though it's replacement is still in Germany - damn!!!

Getting one of the alloy wheels replaced too, as it looks like it is starting to corrode.

Happy days (y)
