Isnt there a light on the dash that comes up if you have a dpf?

My GPS doesnt have one so they might not be on all of them. When it was serviced last they asked if it did or dint have oneas it made a differene to the service cost

No Fiat Grande Punto has ever been fitted with a a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Sister Alfa Romeos have. Does that answer the question?

You don't ever want one of these. They just don't work as intended. From personal experience on collecting my new AR Brera 2.4 from Sidlow Gatwick AR in Sept 2007: 20 miles onto the M11 with 80 miles to home the car lost all power, flagged up "Anti Pollution Filter Clogged" & put me into "Limp Home Mode".

Bloody dangerous. I hadn't even enough power to overtake lorries doing only 50mph without ensuring there wasn't a car behind me that might want to overtake!

Got shut of the Italian disaster 2 weeks ago for a nice reliable BMW Z4M.(y)

Do you own an Mjet GP???

I do, and I know what a DPF looks like. Why do you post utter rubbish when you dont know what your talking about??

Is there no decent German car / BMW Forums to Post in then?
Some GPS do have DPF's dont know about mine but if it does it causes me no problems at all in 41,000 miles.

Close the door quietly on your way out

DPF was optional on the GP diesels.

Easiest way to find out if yours has one is to look for the amber DPF warning light on the dash cluster when the ignition is first switched on (look in the manual for the symbol you need to check for).

Otherwise you can crawl under the car and look for the DPF "cat" which has metal pipes attached to the pressure sensor hoses and red exhaust mountings.

I always thought they were standard. Think they are now to meet better emissions results and lower tax bands etc. (y)
