Hey all

I am new to this forum and i need some help with my ipod and GP.

I bought the fiat ipod interface (50901536) from a dealership today and fitted it with no problems.

However for some reason when i start playing a song on one of my playlists and I want to go to the next song i press the button it goes to the next song and starts playing the next track, but heres the problem it plays a few seconds of the next track and then jumps back to the start of the first track.

Is the anyone that can shed a bit of light on this and help me please?:worship:

They are a mixture of all really i know its of little help and something i didnt mention i do not have blue and me.

Funnily enough yes..small world (and dont worry there is no intention of sending it back if there is a fix)

The instructions dont seem the shed any light on it either

nah I just wanted to make sure all was well, I have heard of issues with MP4 format etc and my Ipod touch is a pain to use in some Fiats.

One of the Techy guys will give a more in depth answer I'm sure

Ahh right do any of the mechanics at your place have any ideas?
If I decided to get a cd changer instead from the dealership how much would it cost and how east are they to install?

If anyonelse has any ideas on how to fix it please let me know:worship:

It's the interface adapter that plugs into the cd changer slot £70 from the dealership

Il give it a try is it just the playlist you label 001,002 etc or the songs as well?
Did that solve your problems?

And is it only mp3s that will work or should the iTunes music files work too?

Ok I've tried just mp3 and it still doesn't work right - I would have thought if the lead was made for iPod it would play iTunes songs.
Any other ideas?

having the exact same problem with the latest nano version ipods and the iphone ,connected to the "fiat ipod interface" will play throught a playlist no trobles but skip a track and it will only play 4 seconds an then it goes back to the start of the play list ?
is there a way that the playlists have to be set up ?
there are rumours the australian head unit has issues ?

help on this problem would be much appreciated :)

I know this doesn't solve your iPod problem, but instead of considering a cd multichanger, I'd probably recommend what the majority of us do - buy an 8gb or 16gb USB memory stick (usually under £20 online), put all your music onto it and whack it in the USB port in the glove box :)

Saves messing about with CDs at least.

Does the steering controls work with a memory stick, like skipping tracks and volume up and down.
I usually have my favourite tracks on a CD with four folders on. Easy listening, Soft Rock, Favourites and the Wifes Folder, theres actually a good 70 or 80 songs on that CD, but you can never have enough though can you.

It's annoying I've tried my old iPod and it still does it, someone mentioned a memory stick and plug it in to the dashboard but I don't have blue and me and I don't really want to change the head unit but I think I might have to if there's no fix.

Is there and an adapter I can fit on the end of an iPod lead so I can use a nor al memory stick?

That is exactly what it does with mine bit I've tried it with older iPods too
