The memory sticks work fine with the steering controls :)

Also - I thought all GPs had USB ports on the glove box? Didn't realize this was dependent on having blue and me?

Where about in the glovebox is it cos I haven't noticed one?
Any dealers no if the all the got range have a USB socket?

I'm grateful for all the help so far but if there are any ideas for sorting out the iPod interface it will be gratefully received.

I dont know if we have the same stereo but on mine there is a 4-way button to the RHS of the fascia which you would use to control the playlist that you want or switch tracks (up/down being select playlist and left/right being select track).
The interface will always play the first 10 playlists in your iPod that it finds unless you are playing a set list before you plug it in, in this case it will continue playing normally.
If you want to switch between tracks yourself you need to scroll up/down until you get to playlist10 which is the designated "user" playlist. When on 10, you can use the left/right buttons or steering wheel buttons to change tracks and it wont skip to the beginning again. Hope that helps.

Thanks i will give it a try although i am starting to look at getting a new HU now

No worries,

I dont blame you, tbh, the h/u and iPod are so tempremental it's a pain to use. Can't beat it for long journeys though.

the skipping doesnt seem to happen with older and i mean older ipods like the one on the interface box as long as everything is in mp3 and there are no more then 99 tracks per playlist and that there are 10 playlists ,

seems there is no one out there that can help with the problem at this point in time , kind of frustrating when a 300 dollar part doesnt work as it should !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strange, I've got an 80Gb iPod Classic and the playlists can run into thousands but I've no problems playing them. After hitting track 99 the display always shows "track 99" but will continue counting track 1...2...3 etc in the background until it hits 99 and runs over again. You can see it briefly when you skip tracks.

dam well i dont know whats going on then lol
time to go to a fiat dealer and get this sorted !!!

dam electronics i have no luck :( 3 different ipods and an iphone all doing the same dam thing !!!!
