Greetings frm singapore!

Am so glad to find this great forum that simply provides endless flow of useful information.

Straight to the point, GPs here in singapore do no come with factory fitted head units (probably to reduce cost) and is pre-installed with after market players.

Although some of you will violently object, but I think the built in head unit looks really cool as the edges are all flushed in and imho gives a more plush look than after market HUs which don;t seem to fit in very nicely.

As such, can anyone point me to where it would be possible for me to purchase a new or used original HU for the GP? Do all stock HU comes with Blue and Me features? will b&m work straight out of the box? meaning to say, just plug in the b&m enabled HU and everything else should work?

I very much doubt that Blue & Me will work straight out of the box, and i think that certain models in the UK come with aftermarket units also i think i remember seeing a DUB edition with a sony HU which also had some silly vinyl down the side that was done very badly.

I think that you will find more people than you think will agree that it looks better with the standard unit.

If you go to the classifieds section of this forum there is a wanted section in there where you can advertise the fact that you are after one.

Also you may be better asking in the GP section about connecting the blue and me because im sure that it is possible with a few extra components. I will move this thread over to there and link it to here so you get the best of both worlds.

I'm not sure it would work without some kind of fiddling around. If I remember correctly, the OEM head unit is married to the car via can-bus.

i think the canbus is already there or its without a canbus than it's probably easier to do...

No you cant just plug in a blue and me unit and have bluetooth.

Alot of GP's here (dub models) come with aftermarket units.

well, think i can still live w/o the BT if it's such a hassle, but I'd really like to have the built in player, i think it looks so much better... i'm sure someone has a spare lying around somewhere since it seems like aftermarket HUs seem to be very popular in the uk (i'd assume aftering seeing multiple threads on replacing HUs)...

really ironic though, people in my country would love the built in player while lads qt your end are asking for replacement HU, we should really swop positions...

Maybe after you have the built in HU you'll understand why we swap it out

Could you not ask Fiat to either build your car with the standard hu or fit blue and me and then you can buy a standard hu which should then just connect to your blue and me unit?
