Technical Turbo problem??

Technical Turbo problem??

Bit more background on my issue, taken from another thread:

As I posted the other day in the GP section, it developed a flat spot between 1.5k and 2k RPM then had a surge of power as soon as you pass 2k RPM (enough to upset the traction control).

The car was booked into Fiat this morning to get checked out but it didnt make it that far. I was about 1 mile from my work car park yesterday morning when I lost all power, it would idle but struggled to pull away in any gear.

I managed to limp it the rest of the way to work and then abandonded it in the car park overnight and had it recovered this morning.

The recovery driver tried starting it to get it in line for the flat bed but it kept cutting out so we had to push it in line.

Not sure what's wrong with it, will have to wait and see what Fiat say.

I've had an update from Fiat this afternoon and Lee you were right mate (y)

Fiat tech said that the EGR valve failed while fully open causing the car to go into limp-home mode.

New EGR valve and gasket has been ordered although due to adverse weather conditions parts from Italy are being delayed so it might be a little while before I get the beast back.

Do people think if this has been on it's way out for a while it would cause power and fuel econemy to be down, if so should it return to 100% once replaced?

:rolleyes:(n):nono::shakehead: You are still VERY wrong Matt...

to be fair the tjet has more capabilities than the mjet, as scorpian tuning can now take that little unit upto 265hp :D bet that shifts! when is someone in this country going to do it some justice......... obviously that is alot more than a remap! more comparable to the SS kit

I know what you mean mate :slayer:

It would already be a done deal if it wasnt for the small fact that I know I will sell my M-Jet for less than a same aged T-Jet will cost despite the fact that the M-Jet was and still is the more expensive car :bang:

I think atm a dealer would prefer to be having your car for sale on its forecourt more than a Tjet so you could get a nice deal on one even if you have to pay out a little bit more. That imo is sort of to be expected. It might be the same age and cost less new but there are alot fewer Tjets than Mjets on the road.

Matt, you talk sense dude (y)

My insurance is due for renewal in a month so I've got until then to either change cars or stick with the M-Jet....... decisions, decisions.
