Well after my Engine warning light it turns out my EGR was dead and stuck closed.

Replaced under warranty by Fiat @ Blackburn Motor Park along with a 2nd/36k service.

As ever top notch service and customer care. Even transferred my 3rd year warranty to me after the card didnt get to FIAT.

Must have been on its way out for a good while as the car feels much smoother now (more than if it just had a service) and the idle is far more steady. Doesnt sound like a tractor either.

Is there any knock on damage that could have been caused by this?

Duff EGR's have been known to cause turbo failure, for sure on Renault example I read about, but I am pretty sure you would know by now, not sure if the failure has to be a fully open or fully shut I'm not that clever but if some smart person reads this I'm sure they will tell.

Hmmm... My new turbo was fitted today, seems a lot more perky than before, or that could be that my Suburu Impreza courtesy car was slow. Wonder if my egr valve is ok??
