General Where do you mount you SAT-NAV??

i used to suction mine to window bottom right but i found it obsured my view sometimes so moved it to the middle of windscreen but i dont like it there either. Im thinking of putting it on my door window next but i dont think thatd be a good idea. Id like to stick it to the dash board somehow but my brain wont think of a way to do that. might try velcro patches!

Does anyone find that with the rake of the windscreen...if you mount it on the screen itself, you have to lean right forward to actually use it...seems like it is miles away!

Anyone using a TomTom Go 520-530 ??? was wondering about this model and if it was OK with the in built sound system ?

I got the TomTom 530, and its brilliant!... The downloadable stuff is good, I got a Grande Punto in black as my cursor, my start-up screen is the Fiat logo, so its all good!.... the only problem is the actual holder, the arm is small so not a real great of place you can put it. I put mine on the bottom right of the windscreen, but sometimes can get in your way. Eventually i'll find a way of mounting it on the dashboard well out of the way of the windscreen. But the actual TomTom its self.... (y)

Bottom of my windscreen to the left of my steering wheel. Doesnt make me take my eyes off the road there and is easy to keep in peripheral vision if needed, and doesnt obscure any road.

and Scotty what do you mean built in sound system?

Well the TomTom Go is supposed to be able to transmit the calls through your car speakers (y) but I have never been able to confirm this.

Maybe Lee can confirm that it actually does, since he has the 530. The added bonus is you are supposed to be able to play your MP3's from a memory card directly from TomTom so these should also come through your speakers.

OOH i see. Yes they do, and the FM transmitter really isnt that bad, its a reasonable quality sound. This also means when your using bluetooth with it you hear the call through your car speakers.

I've found if you set your TomTom/Navman/etc up before you set off, sticking it to the bottom left of the windscreen (passanger side) is the best option. No cables over your side and well out the way......

To be honest I havent played MP3's through it but calls I have and its very good, you can also read/write messages too. You can do alot with the TomTom, download alot of stuff onto it too, some are free and some are pricey.
