What size/type bulbs for rear number plate light?

I'm getting bored of checking my car manual for answers just because other people can't be arsed....

If it helps it's a 5W W5W (501)fitment

get them from ebay you can get them cheap and in different colours.

Not to P*** on your bonfire but coloured numberplate bulbs are illegal m8

Purple is illegal and if they're not e-marked they're doubly illegal lol.

Will fail an MOT and you'll need to keep an eye out for traffic coppers in training like me lol assuming I ever get past their ridiculously long application process:devil:

i know that im not using mine for my number plate im using it for my bootlight
but the bootlight bulbs, sidelight and number plate lights are the same kind of bulb type

Ah okay then, tbh i took mine out, wouldnt turn off 4 sum reason (boot light btw nnot num plate light)

West Mercia run roadshows a few times a year you have to go to then apply, I keep getting halfway through and then failing:bang::bang:, getting closer though:devil:

I wanna be a traffic cop, will probably get me the ban hammer for sayng that

People always say this... what if you are not near your car manual? and arent going to be near it for a while? Or have lost it?. Its not a crime to ask questions on a forum
