It could be to do with wear and tear on your engine components. People are always really really suprised how much bhp an engine can lose so quickly, and because it happens so gradual you never notice it... till its on the rollers that is.

And it depends how hard you have driven it since red dot, and also on temp/humidity of the air and engine. Plus how clean your GSR and other filters are? Time since last service? All these are different from your day at red dot.

who told you that rubbish? the most acurate are the single cylinder type
dyno dynamics have more things to twidle with tht are factory set on the one red dot uses.

Oh Dave...... you're asking for trouble.

:yeahthat:

I always change my air and fuel filters every year even though the service schedule says every two to try and keep what little power I've got going.:p

Well as has been pointed out before Red dots rollers are designed to work with auto boxes and have a transmission loss that is preset and unalterable. An average manual box gives a lower transmission loss than an auto (by about 10-15% IIRC) so any car on the rollers there with a manual box gets an inflated bhp at the fly figure as the RR assumes it loses more in the gearbag than it does. The at the wheels figure should be accurate tho are they both similar Jamie?

if its over reading my car is well and truely ****ed when it read at 149 at the fly:bang::bang:

i doudt its over reading by that much, infact i doubt it at all, my car is ill but not that ill, "over" reading at 149 on a 169 engine, i think not

Lets face it. The 1.2 will always be slow.

I had a drag with a Citreon Berlingo Diesel Van (Old smokey thing, no idea of engine size) Black reek everywhere, I can safely say it was about 10 car lengths ahead (not exaggerating here, I was flat) when I was nearing the end of third gear..... : |

Time for a service:confused:

no, car had just been serviced dude

had this problem ever since i had the engine changed

it read 149 at the fly, on the apparently "over reading" rollers.

if its over reading by 10-15% like people are saying, that makes my car ver very very very....alot.......down on power as its supposed to be 170 so, they aint that bad and it certainly aint got less than a 149bhp:eek:
