Service Indicator

Ive had a quick search but couldnt find what i was looking for so i apologise if its been asked and answered before
I can see by the on board computer that it gives a count down of miles to your next service, but does it also work on the time, im sure when i had my Stilo it used to warn you either way if you were coming up to the year or the mileage, but i think mine must be due its first year service very soon but ive not had any warnings from the car?
Did that make any sense?

Re: Service Indicator

My indicator light still hasn't come on and i have had mine 13 months now! I don't think it will till it hits 18k! I took mine to an indy garage and when they plugged it in they couldn't find any service indicators to turn off.

hope this helps!

Resetting it is part of the service so it really should be on unless you in need of a service (the car that is).

Re: Service Indicator

My car was serviced when I bought it (a year old) and the bloody garage didnt bother to reset it.

Bristol was a little bit too far to go, so just swallowed the tenner.

Re: Service Indicator

Same thing happend to me... the garage that serviced it didnt reset it. The car was saying 'service me!' for weeks then it suddenly gave up.

I guess the next service will be 18000 after the last. Atleast i've got the stamp in the owners book to prove it was done.

Harly seems worth the troble getting it reset every year if you service it yourself just get it done when you sell it

Re: Service Indicator

I take it then there is no way to disable service indicator other than stumping up cash to a garage?
Had a works Transit and when garage forgot to disable service indicator, I phoned and the guy told me how to do it myself. Involved pressing clutch & brake (or accelerator & brake) for 10 seconds before switching on ignition, this put out service indicator.
