i dont think it changes anything really doubt it would go down but as for rising im not sure you barely use them

i had them on the other day got pulled over and told to turn them off its against the law unless its seriously seriously foggy  baffles me because a high up 4x4 with bixeon headlights at eye level are fine even though they blind far more

the fog in glasgow has been pretty bad. i would have them just for show to be honest. i think they look better than the stupid black plastic.

Better to have and not need, than need and not have. Shouldn't affect your insurance I wouldn't have thought, though I'd be surprised if you can just pop the black plastic out where the fog lamps normally go, usually it's moulded plastic.

Wouldnt bother saying anything it wouldnt make any difference. There is no need for fog lights unless its foggy. They dont help light anything else up so why bother having them on?

I don't think he means having them on constantly as he knows that's illegal, I think he just prefers the look of a GP with fogs installed ... but I could be wrong

i had them on because i was behind a very old van chucking out alot of smoke and im not being funny but they do light things up or they wouldnt be called lights

The idea of a foglight is so you can be seen not so much to help you see, although they do give the fog a nice eerie underglow... :p

they do light the sides up too say on a country lane the hedges are illuminated nicely :) i do see your point about more fashion statement but they do help in fog its not like you can put your high beams on

and for what point  surely you should be looking at the road ahead

any mods should be mentioned perhaps a friendly phone call or e-mail to your insurance company Before fitting to check most won't charge you (especially if your fitting Genuine Fiat made fog light units)

along the lines of

Dear insurance company

I currently have my car insurance policy with yourselves (policy no)

I would like to know if my current or subsequent insurance policy will be affected in any way if i add a set of Genuine Fiat Front fog lights to my car (reg number- XX88XXX) ?

Do i have to notify you if i do this modification
(as it does NOT affect the speed, performance, handing or acceleration of the car)?

if so who do I contact and will there be any charges levied ?

many thanks

tbf if I'm driving down a country lane at night I'd want my dipped beam, main beam, fog lights, flood lights and any other lights you can think of switched on.

Obviously dip/switch off if another car approaches.

But what about the frog lamps? Do you turn them off with the other hand?

If you guys had really driven in fog you will know that a low yellow flat beam is best for shining below the fog. Certainly that's what I found best years ogo when we did have fog.

Most frog lamps are switched on by numpties to look "council" and forget to turn them off. They are a complete pain and are usually met by me with a show of main beam if I meet such :tosser:s.

I find them a pain in the arse when people drive about with them on, for no reason. Personally I find the times you actually need front fog lights to so rare, they are all but pointless. They're great in driving snow, better than in fog, in fact. But how often do we get that here? I'd rather have driving lights that come on with the high beams.

Whats worse is when people use them with side lights instead of dipped beam!
