honest it is!
this weekend is getting worse, i bought a bigger wheel wrench, and proceded to snap the bolt!! got 2cm to get a grip on it, but gonna leave it for a mechanic to sort it now!!:bang:
what bolt is it exactly
its a wheel spacer bolt, thats gone right through the hole and bent a wee bit at the other end!!
i think i've done enough damage for 1 weekend!!
gonna let a train mechanic sort it now!!
i'm leaving the back ones on though!!, but i would'nt touch the front ones again!!
Bah I'd take it to another mechanic, he should be able to drill it out, and compress fit a collar to reduce it and tap that.
Everyone is just bin and replace these days no proper bodging anymore
update:- took it to the mechanic, and on inspection says the hub is crossthreaded, and will need a hub transplant!:bang:
costing £200 tops!!
if anyone else is thinking about 20mm all round spacers, for god sake don't do it!!
its not worth the risk and hassle!
It is. You just need the right bolt length =/
think it had more to do with user error rather than bolt length if it was cross threaded....
Steve any scrap yards near you so you can get a hub?
To answer for him, nearest decent one is about 50 miles away ... so not exactly local

update: well got the car back, but now i get a bit of a knock when i hit the brakes (from the opposite front side) reckon it could have anything to do with the spacers that were on before?
I'm not trying to be offensive here but have you checked everything is doen up tight, my mate changed a wheel and didn't horse the bolts up
