Can I disconnect my Grande's battery for 5 mins or so without having to reset anything or enter any codes.

Just want to clean all the foul spray grease off the battery, clean up the terminals properly with a post cleaner/wire toothbrush and put some petroleum jelly over the clamp/terminal.

yep take the earth clamp off first

I will be making a Guide up in the next week or so (on 3 day weeks from next week so i will have time to do it) showing the other places that could do well to have a clean up and a smear of suitable grease (y)

you shouldn't need any codes as such as the radio is paired with the body computer (saying that you should have the radio passport anyway)

Good stuff. Where can I find the earth clamp is it on the wing near the battery?

How's this sound? https://www.fiatforum.com/car-care/168100-cleaning-battery-clamps-terminal.html

Looking forward to the guide sounds good(y)

the earth clamp is on the battery (the quick release lever)

can't see a problem with that although i tend to use real Coppaslip as that wont wash of and its conductive..

 .......no nude pics remember:nono:

I'll try to upload the correct pictures for you T are you after the one with the greasy nipple again?

just the clock

is this a time dependent thing? I have a fiat 500 (08) and need to remove the dash trim for repair, but will the car tolerate negative terminal disconnection for say 24 hours, with only a clock reset necessary.

thanks for help

only the clock will need a reset as far as i know (check with the 500 mob about the radio but i assume its the same as the GP with the paring with the body computer)

over half an hour or so it will also reset the ECU so might run a bit strange for 10-20 miles whilst it relearns its settings but after that it will be fine (y)
