Im sorry im not a diesel man:( you mite have to ask some one who has a gps m-jet

I'd say leave the diesel alone. As far as my ol' skool knowledge of diesel engines goes, they don't really need a pressure release because they don't use throttle butterflies to increase engine RPM.

When you hit the throttle, the fuel rail opens up and sprays more fuel in. More fuel = more power and thus acceleration. Turbo spools up and pushes more air in.

Different to petrol engines where your throttle is connected to the air intake (basically) and more fuel is added when needed.

I could be totally wrong. This is how old diesel engines were made. I'm not sure of how modern day diesels work.

Exactly that (y)

You can fit a induction kit and if you time it right you can hear the wastegate :D.

How can you change a wastegate? Its part of the turbo?!
People seem to get confused between wastegates and dump valve, i dont know why because they are two completely different things.

A wastegate is a flap in a turbo which is controlled by an actuator which open the flap up when a certain boost pressure is reached, to stop the engine over boosting.

A dump valve is a device which allows air to be released out of the post turbo intake system, which is supposed to stop the turbo stalling and back spinning when the throttle body butterfly is closed

Also, when people say they can hear "wastegate chatter" they are actually referring to the turbo stalling and back spinning, which makes that chopping sound, this can be heard through an induction kit.

So people that mention they are getting a wastegate valve instead of a dump valve have no idea what they are on about

Only thing that has been mentioned about a waste gate is hearing it through the GSR induction. No one has mentioned getting a waste gate valve?

What noise does a wastegate make then? And i dont see how you can hear it through an induction kit, as theyre on different sides of the turbo

Wat is it on the bonalume website then please, its on there home page, Thanks. I'll be honest with you I dont no a great deal how these things work so all you comments are a great help, thanks.

This is an adjustable wastegate actuator it allows you to adjust the actual boost levels it is not a dump valve

You can sometimes hear the wastgate depending on the type of car I can certainly hear in on my turbo cinq it is a fluttering noise.

But it's not the waste gate you're hearing- it's the pressurized air momentarily 'backing-up' and getting chopped up as it passes back through the compressor, as J4cko has already said-
