re: The Carl "Rolf" Dawson thread

no although my dealership are doing this under the standard 3 year warranty my insurance are doing the same and are also going to carry this on after my warranty runs out.

so actually it is insurance but its warranty as well

re: The Carl "Rolf" Dawson thread

No its different. Just because they say it wont invalidate your warrenty it doesnt mean you dont have to declare them for insurance purposes.

re: The Carl "Rolf" Dawson thread

Nah let him carry on.....I am laffin my nads off at this epic.

I cant be arsed Sledge TBH, smacks of a spoilt little kid who will be bailed out by his Mom when things go wrong.

Some lessons to be learned by this Young gun, life will do that for him, he'll be a better person for it....

re: The Carl "Rolf" Dawson thread

on a serriiiouuuus note dude all you have done on this post is cover up the fact you want to show off about your perfect (spoilt) life and not take in any comments we make? every sensible comment we have made you have come up with a reason why you are an exception even though most of us on here have a few years experience and have learnt the hard way. good luck with your car. it will be great to say we told you so sooner or later. . .

re: The Carl "Rolf" Dawson thread

Im glad everyone else is a touch sceptical regarding this post, i was worried it was just going to be me. This guy is an idiot.

I dont think he's so much an idiot just a little over priveleged and spoilt, he's also a very young lad (and I know some other Posters are too) but all these little things add up. He's naturally excited about his car and like all of us he wants to talk about his car and his plans. Life will level him out though, it did and does to us all. (y)

re: The Carl "Rolf" Dawson thread

why would I want to brag? It's just nice to finally be 17. And I was purely asking for advice/ideas and instead I get dissed or told to shutup when all I've done is try to be truefull. And honest. So why?

re: The Carl "Rolf" Dawson thread

you would want to brag because its your first car, and you havnt paid a penny for it. we havent told you to shutup or dissed you, but everything we have suggested to you you have just made a reason as to why you are an exception and how it doesnt apply to you. we will quite happiyl give opinions if you take them on board on listen, otherwise dont ask!

re: The Carl "Rolf" Dawson thread

first of all I have listened and have received some generally usefull info and advice. And your telling me you paid for your car when you where 17 and your insurance. I'm unfortunate that due to being only 17 nobody will give me a job due to so called H&S laws. Otherwise I would pay for my insurance and car.

This topic and the other ones the same are making me rolf out of control some of the stuff he has said.

Go easy guys, I noted the lad is Dyspraxic and that does come with a host of issues out of his control which would prevent him being able to do as us more fortunate guys do when buying our 1st car, look up Dyspraxia on Google as I did...

re: The Carl "Rolf" Dawson thread

also i have been driving since i was 8 on private land with a 3.0 V6 diesel jeep, a 2.5 jeep cherokee and a 2.0 liter 305 van.

and although these are not large engines i was nearly banned from driving there for excessive speed (140mph) except the land owner couldnt stop me due to public access rights

so a bigger engine=bad idea
improving what i have=apparent good idea

:ROFLMAO:

first of all thank you for all the response

secondly i am without wishing to brag actually quite good at driving by feel by i like to hear whats going on.

and also although not quite the same i know but i race nitro remote controlled cars and can now change a clutch in under twenty minutes so i do also understand how the engines work on full sized cars but do however like to hear what the engine is doing as i can usually predict a fault before the ecu warning lights show and before my dealership do preventative maintenance.

so although i may sound it im not stupid although maybe a bit ignorant:D

but thanks for all the replies anyway (y)

:ROFLMAO:

i am also a bit of a bass jukie i will admit due mostly to being a motorhead fan but i also plass the bass guitar and without wishing to sound nieve here but have quite a good ear for pitch etc so even if i do have my music on can still usually here whatever is going on in the background.

plus im not going for the subs because of their sheer volume im going for them for the quality of sound they produce and their bass.

plus i never have my hifis loud but do have the bass turned up e.g i have a sony micro hifi in my room (2x120 rms)

and have it loud enough to hear the bass clearly but not deafening and can still have a phone conversation/conversation at the same time

:ROFLMAO:

what do you mean puntomatt?

oh and my ma bought it in Faebruary this year its a 57 reg but i have my personal plate on it

car=£6,999 and paid by my mum on debit card
personal plate=£250 and paid by my mum
total =£7,149 one expensive early 17th birthday present

:ROFLMAO:

I bought two cars when i was 17 through working 2 part time jobs and insured them both, i had a '96 fiesta for 8 months while i was doing up a mk2 golf. So not all of us are as spoilt as you, so bite your tongue.

Posted by me earlier Snownrock, there is some mitigation to his circumstances.
