Everyone on here will tell you a remap is better than a box? yeah? This is weird on other forums people are saying boxes are better than a remap? - http://www.astraownersnetwork.com/showthread.php?t=50236&highlight=remap

Dont get me wrong i dont want a box im very happy with my remap but why would other forums swear by boxes? weird?

p.s. what happenas if you put a box on a remapped car? ?

The guy on Astraowners is a muppet. We had plenty of tuning boxes on the rollers and some of them did absolutely nothing, some gave a slight increase and others a moderate increase.

If the re-map is done by people who know what they are doing you will get always moderate results, which will be better than any box as the box has got limitations.

Some of the late Siemens ECUs provide mapping problems where effectively not more can be done than with a proper tuning box.

Some ECUs haven't been cracked or might not ever be writeable to. For those the only alternative is a tuning box.

In all cases where the ECU can be re-mapped a proper re-map will be always better than any tuning box.

The only alternative that can be better under certain conditions than the OE ECU is a stand alone system.

Thats exactly what i thought and most people on here seem well educated on the subject just weird on other forums people have no idea!!:p
