Yep, amidst all the scare-mongering over dodgy turbos I decided to pull the covers down from over my head and forget about it and actually enjoy my car and life!!

Got car remapped at Red-Dot to 177.6bhp and 250.0ftlb torque.

VERY VERY happy!!!

So much nicer and easier to drive, drives alot more like a petrol now. (normall easy driving)

Sooooooooooooooo much faster, just absolutely takes off, had so much fun smoking cheeky chavs!!

MPG, i sat with the cruise at 70mph both down south and back up north
Down there the computer told me 50.7mpg and i got 389miles from full to the light coming on. (all motorway miles)
On the way back i got 58.7mpg!!! and i got 390miles from full to the light coming on again but....this time there was 20miles of the centre of london driving so there is defo a big improvment in mpg!!

In conclusion, the car drives better, faster, smoother and more economically, with no flat spots.

I would reccomend this to anyone.

As far as turbos go, well i belive that if its going to go its going to go. If it does go i will be removing the map and getting a new engine on warranty.

Dont be silly, dont thrash your car within an inch of its life all the time map or no map!!!

Remaps = IMO.

glad to hear you're happy mate...and the drive down was worth it IMO...like you say, you got to enjoy smoking chavs all the way home!

Glad your happy with the remap, i hope to go for the M-Jet 1.9 when my GP comes up for its 1st MOT in 2 years or maybe change sooner, i like how the un trained eye can not really see what you drive unless its the Abarth, my 1.2 could be anything really,,

You drive all the way from Glasgow/EDI to london for it?

Alot of miles to put on it, takes me just over 2 months to do 1000 miles, lol

Depends what it is. If its just a normal one ie not a V8 or a supercharged then they are **** easy to beat, i could do them when i was standard.

Was a diesel, i was over taking with the cruise on and he came flying upbehind within an inch of my bumper flashing the lights i pulled over saw the black smoke as he booted it. I did the same and went flying past him and lost sight of him pretty soon, was very happy. hahaha

You should **** over a TDV6 as standard as they are slowwwww. Its not really a feat beating one tbh, try something properly quick

Its a feat because the drivers think they are the sh*t, in their overpriced discoverys that says "sport". i hate them and their wa*k tanks.

It really isnt a feat lol. If i was a RR sport driver i really wouldnt give a toss if i got beat by a fiat and as soon as i saw you boot it i would let off and drop back in to give you the self satisfaction that you "won"

has your MPG been affected? glad that all has been sorted out well. can you go even higher in bhp?

Read what i wrote about MPG, the guy said the enigne would go upto 200+bhp with a map if you wanted but he was aware of the turbo "issue" with the car so i said go as high as you feel is safe. so he said he wouldnt like to go above 180bhp (just incase)

To be honest i think it was just a precaution because of the "hype" on forums about turbos going. (no remapped red dots have blown yet thou as far as i know). Also mine was only putting out 134.9 as standard so be a similar or same map as yours, yours will be totally fine.

So yours was about 10bhp short of mine as standard then? Wonder how that happens. I'm not concerned bout my map mate I dont drive bonkers or race Range Rovers TBH I just utilise the extra grunt in the lower to mid-range, gives me some fantastic MPG figures on long runs at steady 70

In fact I probably never use full power at all, no need to rev the bo**ocks off a diesel and I short shift to keep the turbo happy

Did u see all the Jap drift tools? Was Peter about for a chat with you? Enjoy!

Oh come on...you must have done something like that when you first got it mapped!!.

Yeah I think the turbos going have nothing to do with maps and everything to do with driving style. He said that they had a GP Mjet in for a remap and it was at 124Bhp to start with and he refused to map it. It was dead within a week anyway

Well maybe I did once or twice to show my mate that his Beemer 120d was pig slow lol but no, I can honestly say I dont race as I know I could whup most of the chavvy kids who like to try and tempt me

Dont know why mine was less? maybe i left the aircon on? Acutally......it would have been on?? I dunno if that would actually make a difference thou.
