Technical grande punto mjet tyres

Tjet is 1200kg :S You dont know what the maximum payload of my new tyres are anyway :S
What are your new tyres then ? I've recently put a pair of 205 45 17 88w BF Goodrich Profilers on the front of my T-Jet ! Better cold weather traction and grip than the original Bridgestone RE050 A's but a little less progressive at the limit ! They are meant to be good in the dry too ! Never really felt the need to go wider than 205 even though I drive it quite hard ! The front Bridgestones lasted 7700 miles lol :)

ive got goodyear eagle f1's, 215-40-17 93Y, brilliant tyres
Didn't realise you could get 215 40 17 in 93 load too ! Most available in the UK are either 83 or reinforced 87 ! Did a search and found 3 tyres in this size and load ! Non listed for sale in the UK ! Where did you get them from and how much do they cost :)

If you want tyres for your GP sporting in the standard size and money is no object then go for Michelin Pilot Sport 3, Pirrelli P-Zero Assemetrical ,Continental SportContact 3 or Bridgestone Potenza RE050A ! If you want to save a little money but still get a good tyre try the BF Goodrich g-force Profiler and Uniroyal Rainsport 2 as both are available in the standard size and have been given good reveiw on the tyreveiws site ! If you must go wider 215 45 17 is preferable because it's load rating is higher than the standard 88 unlike 215 40 17 which is lower ! 205 40 17 's load rating is also too low too :)

Continental have just released their Sport Contact 5 in 205 45 17 88w ! Probably the best tyre available in this size ! Bit expensive though :)

Looks like I need two new back tyres...

205/40/17s are so much cheaper than 205/45/17s any idea why!?

Currently got 205/45/17 potenzas but wanted Toyo T1's and cheapest I can find in 205/45/17 is like £113 a corner whereas 205/40s are £155 for two fitted!

Noticed the 40s are W speed rated and 84 load. Currently running Vs 88 is this an issue?

Found some Toyo's for £105 fitted. Any others you recommend under £100 fitted that are 205/45/17s?

Just a heads up for anyone based in the north, went to north eastern tyres and they quoted them fitted at £88 a tyre. Top service too. Their website was slightly more expensive than ringing up but still miles better than most places. www.nete.co.uk

Website says £97 fitted, they could have had my business a few months ago if they'd had £88 on their website. I ended up paying £80 each for mine from camskill, then postage + fitting makes it add up to £90 a tyre so can't complain really.

I rang up the Middlesbrough branch and they quoted them for less so that's good. The website prices fluctuate a lot from what I have seen, they stock so many tyres/brands I assume they get the go ahead to change prices on a regular basis.

I fit mine with 215/45-17 (Potenza REO003) well it fit nicely, make my grandepunto Sporting a bit higher too
