hey guys,

I'm picking up the sporting later, and the original owner has put the side rubbing strips on the car.
Now my question is are these just stuck on, and if anyone has removed them, have they noticed any difference in the shade of colour in the paintwork.

It'll be getting a full detailing session over the next week, but I dont want to take the strips off and find a mismatch in the colour.

thanks in advance

Paul

They are stuck on. You will prob get them off but its just how much adhesive will be left behind.

Even if the colour has faded slightly its nothing the detailer wont be able to solve!

Auto Glym intensive tar remover to get rid of any glue residue :) Heat them up well with a heat gun and pull them off slowly. This should ensure that the majority of the glue comes off with the strips.

If your just going to through the strips away ill will gladly take them off your hands.. either collect or pay postage?

I had the full race strips on the doors and over the bonnet and roof :yuck: when i brought my GPS and the car was nearly a year old then and there was no fade in paint! But i gave it a good detail after to make sure all was protected. Like matt said heat them up when you take them off and they should come off without any problems :)
