I've just ordered an Abarth in red with leather, climate and skydome and they are saying mid November for delivery. Thats about 10 weeks, which I think is because of the skydome, as all the stock ones that are currently available don't have this. As I've been fussy on the spec, it needs to be a new build. Has anyone else ordered one and what has the dealer given you as a delivery date?

Niiiccccceeeee!

FIAT Springburn (Glasgow) are the only Scottish Abarth dealer and they have a deadicated Abarth salesman.

They have a red demo GP and it looks the business... dare I say a bit too expensive in SS guise, though?

PS, nice choice OPC!

£15,000 for a punto thats a lot money for a warm hatch punto,as for the salesman at springburn arnold clarck his head is in the clouds thinking he is going to sell thousands of abarth puntos at list price i spoke to him extensively after the test drive i had he is heading for a fall if the 500 abarth doesnt do it for fiat,as i am sure no person in their right state of mind will pay £15,000 for a punto(n)

If I was buying a car for myself, I wouldn't personally buy anything new. The Abarth is a company car and I had the dilemma of getting screwed on the company car tax for a Clio 197, having a Cooper S that was just a bit too small, or going for the Abarth that is pretty quick and is reasonable on the company car tax. It also looks great and as I had the budget, I've specced it up to exactly what I want.

Also, if anyone is thinking of buying one for themselves, there are much worse cars to buy for £15K and I don't care what the dealers are saying, if sales don't pick up discounts will start to be given, just like any other Fiat.

You could get a new one with a skydome cheaper than that

I know. I'd be happy if they matched the Autofinders price for a new one tbh which is about £9450ish IIRC.

Problem is I have my current car with outstanding finance so I need to part ex it and clear the finance off and add on to new agreement. I'd sell privately but I don't have the cash spare to clear the finance :bang: :(. I might just wait until I come back home on leave for the first time in my new job and have 2months salary from my new job :).

You can p/ex at auto finders :) I did with my mk2b :)

Ok i'll give them a bell thanks (y). I don't intend to have the finance for long anyway (8months max).

No problem :) They offer quite decent prices. I got 2250 for my 8v active sport on 33k on a 53 plate and that was 250 below what a couple of dealers had offered me but when saving a good couple of grand i could afford to take the extra 250 hit on my car.

Hi

I (hopefully) take delivery of mine (white, leather) on Saturday week.

I've bought it from Autoworld in Chesterfield and am pxing both my barchetta and Clio.

I didn't go for the skydome because I was concerned about it squeaking with the stiff suspension. Clio Sports don't come with sunroofs for that reason - ok they're Renaults which usually come complete with squeaks, but so do Fiats. The optional wheels look awful imho and are expensive (500 extra).

Shame they didn't make the Abarth in yellow or blue or Lambo orange. The red reminds me of Morris Marina red in the wrong light and I don't particularly like black.

The warranty on the Abarth is 3 years - 2 years manufacturer and 1 year dealer. According to the service counter, Fiat have yet to decide whether the 5 year warranty to be applied to new Grande Puntos and probably others consists of three years manufacturer and 2 years dealer or 2 and 3 or whatever. You'd think that they would sort that out before advertising the 5 years.

Hope you enjoy yours when it arrives.

it doesnt make it more desireable being faster:confused:if its faster than a agp its faster than all gps on this forum aswell from a standing start.
as much as i am anti abarth its far far far superior to that old tuned to the moon relic:D
