And the Abarth looks better imo. Still not bad though.

GP Abarth is too slow.

The Corsa VXR is 189bhp standard and is hitting 62 in 6.8 seconds.

And Vauxhall have just announced the limited edition corsa VXR 'arctic' with 207bhp...

And you're comparing apples to oranges.

Apples...
  • Abarth GP 155hp £13500
  • Fiesta ST 150hp £13995
  • Peugeot 207 GT 150hp £14795
  • Corsa SRi 150hp £14060
  • Clio Dynamique S 138hp £13280

Oranges...
  • Corsa VXR 192hp £16000
  • Clio RenaultSport 197hp £15995
  • Peugeot 207 GTi 175hp £15495

I think he was implying the Abarth Essesse which at (an estimated) 17k is more expensive than the other "oranges" for much lower performance ;)

The standard Abarth at 13.5k isn't bad when compared to it's direct competition (although I still maintain you're paying 3.5k just for a beefier look when you can get debated better performance from a remapped 1.9 sporting).

But then I'm bias too :D

I couldn't agree more - the 'esseesse' kit is a crazy price. Plus I've been told (but not confirmed) that you wont be able to finance it with the car. So if you don't have 17k to drop on a new car (and who on here does?) then you'll have to take a separate personal loan on the kit.

Just make it a factory spec Fiat!

*** me that must be a decentish remap, didn't realise they went that quick!. Makes me wanna buy another GPS . Seems much faster than abarth in straight line.
Alright, alright mister :p

To clarify, I'm not saying the 1.9 remapped is the "better" car, as like you've already correctly stated, there's a LOT of different bits and pieces on the Abarth that make it a completely different, and much imporved beast. I guess I'm just surprised the Abarth doesn't have the Essesse performance as standard...

Meh.

Joining the Red Dot re-map brigade on 24th August, roughly how much does insurance go up if its declared? Currently pay £215 comp with business use.

Anyone know?

I was looking at buying a 1.4 t-jet GP but looking at this thread i might go for the 1.9 m-jet . Any suggestions ?

All depends on if you're gonna be remapping it or not. With fuel costs and purchase price I don't think it's worth getting the diesel unless you're doing mega mileage.

Don't forget there will be a influx of second hand almost brand new Abarth turbochargers coming onto the market soon when people fit the bigger 'esseesse' turbo. I know FF would be the first place I'd advertise mine.
