First you need to realise diesels are alot more tuneable than petrol turbos.

Also bear in mind that the 180 bhp varinat of the abarth is an already tuned version of the 155 and lessens tuning capability on standard parts. With part replacement you can obviously tune it nice and high but remember petrol engines are not as strong and run hotter so to go with big tuning comes big expense ie new pistons and rods. I'm not too sure on the ability to tune on the essesse kit parts and i'm sure we'll find out in due time.

Yea good point, looks like ill have 2 go for a m-jet :p

Just wondered what they looked like i no you cant do car shot because your doing it weekend thats if i read right. just wonder what they look like really. Where you putting them?

They should be getting fibreglassed into the compartment in front of the gearstick with a slight angle towards the driver. The installation of the gauges and senders themselves (oil pressure and boost) will be done tomorrow but the fibreglassing will be done whenever I can get somebody to do it.

the gauges are just 52mm (pretty standard size) with a white face. Just type oil pressure gauge or boost gauge into google images and you will see what i'm talking about.

You gone for normal ones or digital. That will look great.(y) Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm looking forward to seeing these gauges :D

Coyle, have you bought a wideband lambda sensor to go with the AFR gauge? My understanding is that AFR gauges only give genuine readouts when wired into a wideband lambda (correct me if I'm wrong  )

well ive looked online, and haven't come across this wideband lambda?
all i have learned.. it gets wired on tho the signal wire on the lambda...
but im no pro...

Yep, the best reading comes from a wideband sensor, but its not essential yet as no proper tuning has taken place

Splices into the lamda in the exhaust before the cat.

I haven't had a very productive morning. Gauges can't be fitted until wednesday and fibreglassing can't be done until next weekend.

I'm still contemplating a pillar gauge pod as the airbag in the 'A' pillar is a blanket over the windscreen rather than a full blown 'bag' so to speak

you will notice no difference what so ever in your turbo life even if you have guages, i noticed no loss until the split second the turbo died. I'll tell you now, it's not a nice feeling.

Unless you can forsee the future... guages are more of a cosmetic accessory.
